This is unfair, but I'm putting Nick DeJong and Justin Britt in to fill this out.

We only need a RB and a DE now.

Max Cooper sucks but in terms of volume of time he was out there I’d put Colin Sandeman up there at PR.

He was good enough overall that I will give Sandeman a break.

Max Cooper is the definition of a wet turd.

I seem to recall fletcher getting bitched about a lot and then he got drafted and stuck around for while and the narrative changed. Maybe I’m confusing him with someone else
Fletcher only started in one year (2008) and was part of maybe our best ever defense. He was a third round NFL draft pick.

Damian Sims was pretty forgettable. Weisman was not great but he got forced into action.

Travis Meade at LG (a lesser Schott without personality) in 2007 before they gave up and put in Bulaga as a TFr
Meade was like 6'0, 270 and had no business on a Big 10 OL.

I'm reiterating Deandre Johnson for RB. He failed to find holes, got tackled easily and kept James White from choosing Iowa. Fuck him.

Are you thinking of Godfrey? He was good too but on the 06 and 07 teams (he and Shada started ahead of fletcher)

Fuck it, I have my running back. It's a semi-surprise but well earned.

Aaron Greving had the good bowl game filling in for Betts but then flamed out and quit football the following year after entering the season as the presumptive starter.

I'm having a really hard time with RB.

Paki was more of a joke and a place holder. Sam Brownlee filled in like a man. Damon Bullock was a WR that had to switch positions because everyone got hurt. Weisman was a walk-on FB that got thrown into the mix and had some huge games.

We haven't really had any terrible RB's that I can remember other than Greg Garmon.

maybe I’m competing misremembering, but I think fletcher was really good his senior year.
I think this is probably correct. I also think he got torched by Indiana one year and it haunts me. If not fletcher I apologize to him if he reads this.

we beat indiana 45-9 in 2008 so no. Semi serious question - do remember fletcher as being white? Because that would connect the dots here.

Wasn’t there a game against them when Shada played safety and Fletcher started at corner? Probability a James hardy special. I need to go try snd look

Fletcher started at CB and Shada at safety for the 2007 Indiana game. Don’t remember if someone was hurt or if they were just trying “play the white guy at safety”. Fletcher sucked and they went back to the usual lineup.

Bryon gattas and jacody coleman are worth mentioning as LB possiilites.

2nd string center might be a Ferentz.:icon_eek: Can we include Bryan’s performance as OC for this eval?

Here is the updated "final" team. I got lazy with Dejong/Britt and Simple Jack Kallenberger on here. Likely none of them either will belong by the end of their careers or didn't play like Kallenberger.

QB - Jake Christensen, Spencer Petras
RB - Greg Garmon, Ivory Kelly-Martin
FB - Tom Busch, Brady Ross
WR - Paul Cheney Jr., Jerminic Smith
WR - Trey Stross, Herb Grigsby
TE - Zach Derby, Brad Herman
OT - Blake Larson, Nick DeJong
OG - Dan Doering, Travis Meade
C - Mike Elgin, Tommy Gaul
OG - Landan Paulsen, Justin Britt
OT - Jack Plumb, Matt Tobin

DE - Lebron Daniel, Mike Hardy
DT - Steve Bigach, Faith Ekakitie
DT - Thomas Nardo, Simple Jack Kallenberger
DE - Joe Gaglione, Joe Forgy
LB - Troy Johnson, Reggie Spearman
LB -Bo Bower, Grant Steen
LB - Quinton Alston, Kevin Worthy
CB - Tim Dodge, Greg Castillo
S - Tanner Miller, Collin Sleeper
S - Harold Dalton, Myles Taylor
CB - Adam Shada, Willie Lowe

P - Colten Rastetter****
K - Trent Mossbrucker

PR - Max Pooper
KR - Jonathan Parker

****Denotes the worst player in the Ferentz era regardless of position
