lol wutbrotha, if there’s ever anyone who deserves a new handle and a fresh start, it’s you. You lost all respect on this bb when you let fabtard make you his bitch. I get that he’s way smarter than you, way more handsome, much more in shape — and he has trained for years in the art of bb warfare. He saw you as an easy target, he came after you hard in every chat, he attacked you harshly on the bb, and he made you his bitch. That should really be your tagline … Fabtard’s Bitch. You never even tried to defend yourself.
you need to learn from this, get a reincarnated handle, and come back as a better man — and not just a bitch for fabtard to molest with impunity.
We are fans of football because we think football is entertaining. But Iowa football has not been very entertaining for quite awhile. A college football fan is a fan because of some connection to the institution: a geographical connection, a professional connection, or an academic connection. So we really aren't going anywhere - it's not like we can, all of sudden, grow up in a different part of the country or spend 4-5 years of our lives attending a different institution. So we remain fans. The crowd was dead all game yesterday. They brought Big E out at one point to get the crowd going and it was met with mostly indifference. They played a video and then he got a “Let’s Go Hawks” chant going and Spence immediately did the STFU/Angels in the Outfield arm motions to the crowd.
I don’t boo the team, and understand why some people do, but it isn’t going to change the way they do anything. The staff isn’t getting uncomfortable to the point of making any changes. The only thing that I think when the boos are coming down is what goes through the head of a visiting recruit. I will add that I don’t tell anyone not to boo because they paid to be there can do whatever they want.
There was a point where they put up Kirk’s picture on the Jumbotron and it was met with boos. It was just a smattering, but it was enough that it was obvious. It is frustrating that a legendary coach who has been so great for the program over the years has the team in this position and put the fan base in this position.
58,331 = Attendance for Illinois at Iowa the week after the 23-19 win over no 7 undefeated Minnesota in 2019. And that Minnesota game wasn't even a sell-out, attendance = 67,518.Exactly. Petras sucks. Brian has to go. But Kinnick will still be full.
Toxic, but full.
I really want to hear Fire Brian chants next home game

And we have been able to convince ourselves that we were entertained when it has seemed that there was success. Outside of a few times in the past six years, we haven't been entertained while watching Iowa play football. Winning - 9-4 with a bowl win over a ranked SEC team, 10-3 with a win over a ranked USC, 10-4 with a trip to Indy - allowed us to put up with the fact that football wasn't entertaining. But we weren't really entertained, however.
There is a razor-thin line between unentertaining football that somehow wins and unentertaining football that leads to losses. The switch from excited to apathetic is lightning fast. There is no good will left: it was all used up when we suffered through losses like Purdue in 2017 and 2018 and 2020 and 2021, or losses to Northwestern in 2016 and 2017 and 2018 and 2020, or any other time we watched an terrible football game result in an Iowa loss to an inferior team.
Ferentz will get fans back if it seems like he changes something in an attempt to produce something somewhat more entertaining.
Literally all he has to do is try a different QB for a few series when Spencer continuously looks like shit. Colby got beat three times in a row and was on the bench the next drive as someone already pointed out. Do the same for Spencer and that’s all it’d take.Ferentz will get fans back if it seems like he changes something in an attempt to produce something somewhat more entertaining.
Just pretend to take the job seriously.Literally all he has to do is try a different QB for a few series when Spencer continuously looks like shit. I likely will not be there, only going to Wisconsin the rest of the year. I will be working Black Friday.I really want to hear Fire Brian chants next home game
What time is that in English?I likely will not be there, only going to Wisconsin the rest of the year. I will be working Black Friday.
Cedar Falls this year moved Trick or Treating to Saturday the 29th instead of always doing it on the 31st like the past. Iowa is scheduled to play at 1400. If it changes to 1100, I will be at the game, otherwise I plan on watching at home and taking the 10 year old Trick or Treating.
Goddamn CF is one backwards ass shithole. You need to follow Herky's lead and get the fuck out of thereI likely will not be there, only going to Wisconsin the rest of the year. I will be working Black Friday.

Head coach in training
Referee's going, "Yeah, you're right, I missed that call, but in my defense I missed it because I was busy barfing from having to watch your offense."
I liked having Brain around for recruiting, but as long as Kirk is still coaching I'm not too worried about the offensive line regressing. I imagine Brian will be back at Iowa before long too.
Not surprised. Nothing good about losing someone like BF. Kid seems to be on the fast track
That he's getting NFL opportunities also shows how dumb the people claiming he was only hired because of his last name were. Brian was really really well regarded by the Pats and was a great hire for us.
The dude was flying up the coaching ranks in New England under the best NFL coach of all time, man.
Anyone who thinks Brian wasn't qualified for his position at Iowa is an idiot. Brian is a great coach and will be greatly missed.
If Kirk didn't hire Brian when he did, BOB was going to hire him to be an assistant coach at PSU.
Brian may have landed his first job with Pats because of his name, but he impressed his former employers enough to make them want to re-hire him.
I'd like his standing improved right into offensive coordinatorship, effective immediately.
If Brian learned just a little bit at NE, his passing game scheme would represent a huge immediate improvement
I agree. Who knows, maybe Brian is a moron. But I love the fact that he's part of the McDaniels/O'Brien Patriots offensive school.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't equate three years of being a lower level assistant and one year as a TE coach as being an integral part of a system.
When I saw I was quoted here, I thought I would be much more ashamed than I am.playin da hitz...
lol, twas a quick search. I am guessing there is more. When I saw I was quoted here, I thought I would be much more ashamed than I am.
I mean, I’m still ashamed, but RATT.
Now find some posts where you were wrong about anything.lol, twas a quick search. I am guessing there is more.
white knight! Now find some posts where you were wrong about anything.
Shouldn't take long.
You quoted me.white knight!
I quoted Valpo to show him as the voice of reason. You quoted me.
Not really sure how that fit in or was wrong.
Uh, thank you?I quoted Valpo to show him as the voice of reason.
saw the angst thru this thread re:Brian of Pheasant Ridge. Wanted to remind the board of gentler, kinder daze.Thats different, sorry tee-time though.
You lads should take the board less serious.
Yeah that didn’t seem that bad lolWhen I saw I was quoted here, I thought I would be much more ashamed than I am.

I would love this information for anytime going backwards at any point of any drive. If iowa doesn’t gain 3 yards every play of every drive they are fucked. Real hot take here with an absolute terrible offense.Does @lax post here anymore?
I want to know if there’s a stat for 1st down conversions when penalized during a drive.
I feel like I remember this from years ago, and Iowa was among the worst teams in the country. Wondering if there’s current data
I agree, “haha you dipshits were hopeful! Teaches you for not being a miserable cunt like me!”I’m not embarrassed to have been excited about BF joining the staff and rising to OC. He’s not the first person in the world to fail to meet high expectations. He found his limit. He’s a twisted sort of Icarus, really.
Which is why, instead of trying to gain 3 yards on every single play, they should look into gaining 20 yards once in a while. Instead they do the riskiest thing possible where they can’t make a mistake on any plays in order to keep a drive going.I would love this information for anytime going backwards at any point of any drive. Yours shouldn’t have been included at all. It literally starts with “maybe Brian is a moron”.Yeah that didn’t seem that bad lol
God, that was a great 24 hours and a great thread. Just pure HaLo JoySHAME ON US FOR BEING EXCITED ABOUT GREG DAVIS BEING REPLACED!!!!!!
YesDoes having trick or treating on the Saturday before Halloween really clear the backwards ass shithole bar?
When they do get 5, 6 or 7 yards on first down, they way too often follow it with a busted play and end up at 3rd and 7 or 8. Excruciating.Which is why, instead of trying to gain 3 yards on every single play, they should look into gaining 20 yards once in a while. Instead they do the riskiest thing possible where they can’t make a mistake on any plays in order to keep a drive going.
First and Fifteen is basically a death sentence for Brian coordinated drives.Does @lax post here anymore?

This is a fact that Iowa's defensive philosophy is explicitly designed to take advantage of.Which is why, instead of trying to gain 3 yards on every single play, they should look into gaining 20 yards once in a while. Instead they do the riskiest thing possible where they can’t make a mistake on any plays in order to keep a drive going.
Given that it's SOP in the Theocratic Republic of Utardistan, and the TRU is the textbook definition of backwards ass shithole, yes.Does having trick or treating on the Saturday before Halloween really clear the backwards ass shithole bar?
They don’t do anything that puts any stress on the LBs or safeties. If you listen to interviews they state all the time that you are trying to block 11 with 9, and you can’t run their base play without holding the backside end etc, then they do seemingly nothing to solve the problem. This is a fact that Iowa's defensive philosophy is explicitly designed to take advantage of.
It's MADDENING.
Anyone who has ever been held accountable for performance in any endeavor ever puts Brian's ongoing employment in perspective. The Paul Chryst firing certainly puts the travesty Brian’s ongoing employment in perspective
