Oregon is rather banged up, missing their two best players, and might be missing their 4th best player, Takai ("Oh My") Simpkins, who sat out their last game against UCLA with an ankle injury.

Their best remaining player by far is Kwame Evans, who is a 6'10" PF and former 5 star McDonald's All American.

Oregon doesn't do anything particularly well and their offense has been pretty abysmal in Big Ten play with all their injuries.

They have lost 7 straight, a record worst under Altman.

I concur. Starting out like dogshit the last two games was less than ideal.

Like most here I’m expecting a dogfight because we just don’t play for stretches of the game, but it’s jarring to see Oregon at 1-9 in conference. Altman has generally been very good for them and the floor seemingly just fell out this season.

We have a bit of a playing up or down to competition trend going on the last several games

The trend has been close games, so I'm going to go with Iowa rag dolling both Oregon and Washington and then fighting to survive against Northwestern when they get back home.

Need to take care of business tomorrow. Washington is a bad matchup with size and if they beat us, they have a really good path to get back in the mix for the tournament. Spread will probably be within 2 points.

If we get these next 3 and Purdue loses at Nebrantska, we will both be 19-5 when we play them at Carver on Valentine's Day

This is the formula of how they go from Drake + Koch to a level up. The effort is great from everyone. I do think Howard might be sort of slow mentally sometimes.

Good win.

As ol' Dougie thought, it's February and starting to see Foulgerias come into his own and now Hausen emerge from the shadows as a much healthier and skinnier quicker version of himself.
Alvaro has gotten so much better overall and still has plenty of room to grow. But you can see it clicking for him. Still gets a shitty whistle though.

Ben was raving about Hausen postgame. Said he’s lost 15 pounds and while not getting minutes, has one of the two best consistent attitudes. Also implied that it’s been about offense almost as much as defense, not just hunting shots and chucking.

You saw him tonight actually getting inside the arc, creating and making the extra pass. Him, Koch and Alvaro are the keys to opening up the offense. Liked seeing Koch drive tonight and finish. Ben said he’s hit a freshman wall but getting it, wanted to strangle him for a couple defensive mistakes but next year you’ll be shocked at how much better he is.

At half, Sash said Banks was banged up and didn’t know if he’d play 2H. Hopefully minor. Only 42 minutes combined from him, Cam and Combs.

Stirtz was just about perfect tonight. 32 points on 8-9 from 2, 4-6 from 3, 4-4 from the line and 7 assists to 0 turnovers.

Was just going to come in here and say Hausen looked great. Like completely different physically from even a month ago.

8 games left in February. If Iowa can get six of them even wow Ben’s got it cooking a little bit.

I wouldn’t be heartbroken over 5-3 either 🤷🏻‍♂️. I have a feeling the hawks are going to be tough to beat in carver down the stretch

His best play was guarding on the inbounds before half. Wasted about 3 seconds. Those are repeatable effort type plays that could make a huge difference. Oregon ran a beautiful play out of the timeout to get a good look but the point still stands.

he still looks thick but sometimes I have to remind myself that some of these kids are 18 and guys like Hausen are 23-24.
