Understand. I just don’t think the “traveling west” part is really material. Especially for college students who are taking a charter flight.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Iowa has been pretty terrible on the field traveling west in the regular season under Ferentz, and giving them one less day to prepare isn't great.

Again, unless UCLA is undefeated or something tickets are going to be easy for this game/time slot. No one who is at or near UCLA will be coming to the game. If you left at 5 pm from Westwood you wouldn't make to the stadium/through queue to park until at least 6:30, if not 7 pm. It is hellish soulcrushing traffic. God help any of you of you who try to come in from the Westside that afternoon.

I get writing to fly direct but there are scores of flights daily to any one of about five equally convenient airports (LAX, Long Beach, John Wayne, Burbank, Ontario) on any major airline connecting various in Denver or ORD (United), Salt Lake (Delta), Dallas (American), and wherever Southwest goes through.
