Basketball is so much different where 1 game doesn't make or break your season. Iowa State is also admittedly the stronger program overall but not exactly by all that much. Iowa is still more than competitive with them and does fine on a national level. There is upside in this game and even some underdog feeling, but not the type like in Football where you can feel the Iowa State desperation to finally crawl over the bigger program and get respect.

This is more like, hey, they have a good program and maybe a little better than our program. It will really fucking make the Hilton fans skin crawl to see Iowa pull off a win there. It will be a house of boos and hate. Let's have some fun and get into a few chest bumping shoving matches as the crowd goes bonkers.

I think that all has to do with how much a single game means in a 12 game season. When it is only 1 of 30+ games you can enjoy it a lot more.

That, and like you said, they have a nationally respected basketball program. You don’t drop in the ratings if you beat them by 20 points.

The most striking thing is how many possessions are used by Garza (makes sense), Joe T (whoa), and Kriener (double whoa). JoeW needs to find a way to inch up that possession chart for Iowa to be successful. Preferably starting next week. Also, haven't seen much from Evelyn when I've been watching, but his ORtg confirms what I've read here, that he's probably not a high-major player. Finally, there are some ugly 3P% numbers on both teams, but esp. ISU, yikes, but at least ISU has some pretty stellar 2P% to balance it out.

I actually think the Toussaint and Kreiner numbers aren't all that shocking. Fran loves to sub 4-5 new guys in mostly together and Toussaint has the ball in his hands all the time and is the main offensive threat. Kreiner is the second offensive threat, but his number push higher because he is a fucking idiot who is a black hole on offense and thinks he should be shooting every time he touches it.

Wieskamp needs to get his numbers up, but the best thing to see is how great those numbers are for Fredrick. He is really good.
