We haven't really talked about this since the season started, and I'm not here to jerk my dick, but Perkins looks great and completely comfortable at PG.

I'm not even taking anything away from Bowen or Ulis who both look fine. But Perkins is the obvious choice this year

i Agree and it’s nice Bowen can apparently play off ball pretty well. I hope another consistent outside shooter steps up because I don’t think Perkins has the consistency to do that

I would like to see Tony demonstrate use of a functional left hand against good guards.

Toussaint had 18 points and 5 assists last night.

Cc: Fran
heard from a good source Joe asked Fran to promise him he'd get 30 minutes a game this year and when Fran wouldn't agree to it, Joe knew twas time to transfer.

Perkins at point works for most games and situations but that handle isn’t tight enough for end of game, close lead situations when we are getting pressed. We saw him with a bad turnover bringing it up in the douche title game last year. Ulis, Bowen, or Connor are all options and hopefully one of those three step up as reliable FT shooters for those situations. bohannon was so damn reliable.

Eh, I don't know about this. One bad turnover and the guy can't do it? bohannon had countless bad possessions at the end of halves and games and some great ones as well. What Perkins does is allows us to not run a fucking set at the end of halves/games. Having a guy that is big enough and strong enough to create on his own will lead to much better possessions a majority of the time.

I support Perkins being the starting pg. But yea, his dribbling is not on par with other P5 starting pgs. He’s solid enough to be fine in most situations but we will need someone else to step up when teams press. bohannon had the occasional turnover but his FT shooting more than made up for it

JT played 30 min against Pittsburgh a couple of days ago. West Virginia won by 15. JT scored 18, had 5 assists and 4 boards. Of course Iowa is the smart one here.
Any coach that “agrees” to any sort of ultimatum in that scenario would be a fucking idiot.

Let’s not turn this into Charlie Jones 2.0*. I wish both players the best aside from if/when they play against Iowa. Much like Iowa’s struggles offensively were not for lack of having Charlie Jones on the roster, if Iowa struggles this basketball season it will not be for a lack of Joe Toussaint.

I realize Cletey is the only one doing this.

I think perkins best moments come when he plays off the ball tho. You could move either sandfort or pat to the 2nd team and move either ulis or Connor to starting and it would make lineups slightly more cohesive.

Mostly only matters for those first 4 minutes and we will see all sorts of combos early on.
