How many games in Kirk's entire 21 years has a QB missed a game due to injury?

1 in 2014 (Rudock - Purdue)
2 in 2009 (Stanzi - Ohio State, Minnesota)
2 in 2006 (Tate - Syracuse, Northern Illinois)

That is all I can remember off hand. Maybe there was someone in the first 2 shitty years, but 2001-2019 Iowa QB's have only missed 5 games due to injury.

I assume that's different than most other teams, and is a feature of style that is grossly underappreciated. I'd be happy to be proven wrong as I wish they had more running quarterbacks.

Iowa has had 3 QB's during that time that ran often enough (Banks, Tate, Beathard) and only one of them ever missed a game. It also isn't like Iowa doesn't allow sacks or guys like Stanley and Beathard were beat to shit in a lot of games.

Some is style, but think it is a lot of luck.

The waggle does because of one of the rare QB injuries. Proved itself too risky.

We should definitely keep talking about how lucky we've been with quarterbacks not being injured.

We can talk about it because god hates our running backs instead

My freshman year at Iowa (2000), Scott Mullen was benched for Jon Beutjer after four games. Beutjer got hurt in game 8 which opened the door for Kyle McCann to start the last four games. Other than that, it’s just those five games in nearly twenty years.

I don’t know why, but you’re younger than I thought.

Hotel booked for Sept. 17th - 20th. Canopy Hilton Downtown Minneapolis a short walk from the stadium. Nice hotel.

Come watch me fuck up @26.2 and @Truant on the bridge on the afternoon of the game and then maybe grab a few beers with @BuffettHawk after the fight.

Saturday the plan is to hunt down @HoundedHawk and challenge him to throw a football across the river.
Sorry, but that's right around my 58th birthday. My latest goal for my arm is for it to stay attached.

However, I can bring little Hounded who is still in college. He can throw it 70.
The runt of the family.
He actually is. He is the shortest of my three sons. And shorter than me. But he was definitely also given the gift of a strong arm.

Sam Aiello doesn’t get enough credit for helping make Brad Banks a Heisman finalist.

One of our neighbor's chickens was just accosted by this big ass hawk. I'm taking this as a good sign for the bowl game.

If it had a used condom in it's mouth, I would agree fully.

But, cool pic

The post midnight scramble for a hook up is a risky endeavor that technology has largely solved the need for. No longer worth it, boyz.

What a fucking psychopath. The possibility of claiming self defense seems pretty unlikely given that he killed two guys and tried to kill a third, none of whom had weapons. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Could maybe see a suicide by cop deal coming too. Awful situation.

If this was already posted elsewhere, I'll GFM, but just catching up on Twitter and this is a pretty good clip. Kirk loses it at the end.

I know we all complain about football related dumbfuckery, but I hope Kirk stays for awhile. He's just a fucking good dude.

I think the last time anyone non-twitter or Wal-Mart Iowa Fan truly complained about Kirk was after the bowl game in 2014. Since then I think most are pretty happy with him.

He is 64 years old and in good shape. He loves to coach and seems motivated. The program is winning at a consistently higher clip and recruiting and player development keeps getting better and better.

It won't surprise me if his plan is to go until 70 like Hayden did. That would take him to the 2025 season. Phil Parker doesn't seem like he is going anywhere either. His salary is up to $750k and they could easily go to $1m+ if anyone tried to poach him.

There are some things to clean up in the running game and with the offense overall, but I don't think they are far off.

Kirk will know when it's time to go as well. He's not going to try to hang on while he's shitting his depends like Paterno.
