McCall shouldn't be counted on for anything. He sat out last season and is razor thin.

Doyle's mistake was thinking he was close enough to the players to make jokes acceptable among friends. Kirk's mistake was making Doyle untouchable.

Yes, but the intent of people like this is not to make the world a better place, it’s to prove to everybody that they are more enlightened and therefore superior humans than the rest of us.

The irony being that Chris Doyle, likely an asshole and definitely racially insensitive, has changed more lives for the better in his career than all of these people combined could even dream of.

That's the sticking point. I have to look at the allegations again, but I believe the truly racist stuff is one player making the allegation with no corroboration. If it didn't happen, why should Doyle apologize and admit to something he didn't do?

And I was fine with removing him from the program. The program couldn't allow this be dragged out and needed to move on.

They had their individual issues but other than maybe Rugamba's I think, I don't think anyone else came forward and said that they saw it happen. I might be wrong though

While this is true, this is mostly a manifestation of NCAA rules, not of any kind of overt anointing by Kirk.
