My voice is shot from booing. No admonishments. Just a lot of people looking defeated and pissed. The clone fans in my section mostly looked like they felt bad for Iowa fans.

To put a capper on the night, we were starved and soaking wet after the game so walked into the pizza place adjacent to our hotel (Element). Didn’t even notice the name which was Unimpaired. Put our order in and then realized it was a dry bar. Explained the fact that it was empty. And the name. So didn’t even get a drink and ate some really shitty pizza. I was asleep by 10pm.

Oh, and Element was $600. Between the game tickets and hotel, I spent almost $1000 to watch that debacle.

Frost brought along the frat party from UCF instead of hiring a seasoned Big 10 staff. If he had put himself over offensive scheme and recruiting and CEOed it he could have probably done ok. He’s just too much of a meathead to know he’s a meathead.

In the unlikely scenario Campbell takes the gig he’s probably not going to make those mistakes. He understands his fanbase, and understands his limitations as a coach and hires mostly competent assistants. He also seems to mostly maximize the talent he actually can get.

The coaches and players obviously won’t just quit, but the reality is that we aren’t winning more than 7 (ha), and that’s pretty awful considering the D and ST. So for me, I’m now on board the 2-10 or 3-9 last place offensive ranking train. Anything that gets Brian fired.

Ideally we could go 11-1 and eek out 10 more 7-6 type wins, then fire/demote Brian and hand over reigns to literally anyone decent and give them the leeway to play and coach how they want. Shred the zone blocking and concepts that are dead in modern era/rules of CFB. Basically Kirk does the SMART thing, prudent if you will, and just oversees things as CEO while letting Levar, Phil, and Alan Lomax call the plays.

Had he just (I type that in a pleading manner) taken that approach after 2015, we are building a dynasty type situation and cleaning house in recruiting far more than we have even.

This complementary football bullshit…how do 3 and outs or turnovers help complement anything? We don’t and haven’t had the ability to go on long drives to rest the D, we aren’t protecting the football, some of the play calls are insane and put us in worse situations or kill drives, and you can pin teams deeper with an offense that can generate a few first downs. This Ferentzian need to dictate offensive philosophy is just so beyond me. Nor is the stubborn refusal to adopt to what is now allowed in CFB, like the transfer portal, offensive modernization, etc etc.

Anyways, 2-10 or 3-9 is what is needed. Barta isn’t making a change with 7-5 no matter how bad it is. We’ll just get promises or new Kirk 4.0.

Then how does Kirk justify not making the switch in-game when Petras was godawful? It goes back to my post Saturday. There is no off-ramp that doesn’t declare in big flashing lights that a switch should have been made Saturday. You can’t change for Nevada without declaring you screwed up with the decision in-game Saturday. First post-game question would be, “why didn’t you make this change at halftime of the game you pissed away last week?”

Nevada is so terrible even Petras will put up decent numbers (he could get 200+ throwing behind The line of scrimmage all game). So, you can’t make a change during or after Nevada game.

Next exit that doesn’t kill Kirk’s image is after poor performance in first I am a giant douche game. Petras sucks, is pulled at half, and Kirk has his graceful exit. Just hope it doesn’t cost us that game too.
