How many Louie Stecs are on the roster? You aren’t talking about this one?
View attachment 39934
But Stec practices well.Completely manhandled Inside. With Graves (and others) on the bench.
My voice is shot from booing. No admonishments. Just a lot of people looking defeated and pissed. The clone fans in my section mostly looked like they felt bad for Iowa fans.I did. Being in the minority is hard but I persisted.
Was there a lot of blood in the streets, or did the rain wash that away?My voice is shot from booing. No admonishments. Just a lot of people looking defeated and pissed. The clone fans in my section mostly looked like they felt bad for Iowa fans.
To put a capper on the night, we were starved and soaking wet after the game so walked into the pizza place adjacent to our hotel (Element). Didn’t even notice the name which was Unimpaired. Put our order in and then realized it was a dry bar. Explained the fact that it was empty. And the name. So didn’t even get a drink and ate some really shitty pizza. I was asleep by 10pm.
Oh, and Element was $600. Between the game tickets and hotel, I spent almost $1000 to watch that debacle.
They would have won had their own player not caused Brock to fumble in the same spot.We would have won had Monte held on, or Roberts stayed on his feet for a td return.
I still find that incomprehensible.
One observation - a lot of Iowa girls were doing the exposed midriff thing that probably shouldn’t have. Lots of jiggly bellies. Talent seemed down from past visits. Ferentz-level talent abounded. I’m blaming him for everything. Was there a lot of blood in the streets, or did the rain wash that away?
You should demand a refund from Brian and Kirk. I think Chip Kelly did that his first year at Oregon. My voice is shot from booing. No admonishments. Just a lot of people looking defeated and pissed. The clone fans in my section mostly looked like they felt bad for Iowa fans.

The ol’ “well at last my weekend are freed up” bullshit. On the bright side, I need to stain my fence this fall. Going into the season I was trying to figure out the best weekends on which to try to time it so I wouldn’t miss the Hawks play. Now I could really give a shit less. Mother Nature and her forecast will be deciding now, so be it if I miss another shorty performance.
I hate that I feel this way
He played 11 snaps. But Stec practices well.
Pretty sure Iowa State ran the ball right at him on 8 or 9 of those. He played 11 snaps.
You’re describing the difference between a good coach and not good coach.I’m of the minority of people that actually believes the Frost hire should have worked.
Frost brought along the frat party from UCF instead of hiring a seasoned Big 10 staff. If he had put himself over offensive scheme and recruiting and CEOed it he could have probably done ok. He’s just too much of a meathead to know he’s a meathead.
In the unlikely scenario Campbell takes the gig he’s probably not going to make those mistakes. He understands his fanbase, and understands his limitations as a coach and hires mostly competent assistants. He also seems to mostly maximize the talent he actually can get.
Basically yes. You’re describing the difference between a good coach and not good coach.
I don’t even know how many people were at my house, at least 50, and there was more laughing than yelling. It felt like some bad practical joke. We were all 100% sure that Petras was done with how the 1st half ended.I was semi-impressed? with the lack of arguments and saw zero fights. But it kind of speaks to the defeated spirit of the fans others have mentioned. A lot of the section I was in saw it coming and basically laughed.
@Fair and BalancedI don’t even know how many people were at my house, at least 50
“Here’s a tweet I saw that I thought was worth sharing with everyone. It’s from Lars Anderson”.
God dammit.
Or not be in pants-pooping fear of getting hit. This is the thing that amazes me. If almost any other position fucked up with multiple turnovers, Kirk would bench his ass for a year. Yet, here Petras is turning the ball over multiple times per game without any upside and Kirk is like "Other people gotta step up."
No, Kirk. Maybe you can put a QB in who can complete a basic screen pass or sidestep in the fucking pocket. Or walk and chew gum at the same time.
They need to blow themselves up. Or they need to blow all of us in one big gravy train. It’s not a fucking glitch in the system friends. This IS the system and it’s awful. Just fucking awful. Completely inept. Ferentz’s watch this offense, after the defense forces 3 turnovers and blocks 2 punts, and they think, “we just need to clean some things up.” No, you fucking dipshits! You need to blow it up! 150 yards! Jesus fucking Christ!
He probably served at Muk Wah and Sin Loi.My brother got “really?!? REALLY?!?!?” In response to pretty mild booing when ISU came out by some try hard dipshit in a Vietnam Vet cap. He then proceeded to come to attention and rendered a full salute during the national anthem. That man is absolutely desperate for someone to thank him for his service
You're assuming there are grownups in athletic department admin, and the Magic Eight Ball says, "All signs point to 'No'."Which is why this year HAS to be an unmitigated failure of the most pathetic of epic proportions.
So bad you have to clean house. And if Kirk is unwilling to accept that reality, then goodbye to him too.
It doesn’t get better. You risk a Bill Snyder/Sean Snyder end of career fiasco. You’re bordering on causing irreparable damage to offensive recruiting (which can quickly be mitigated through the portal).
Any competent or visionary leader with the foresight to scan the horizon (sort of a job responsibility that should be expected) would have nixed the BF to OC thing back in the day. 5+ years later ….. “dead horse beating.gif”
The coaches and players obviously won’t just quit, but the reality is that we aren’t winning more than 7 (ha), and that’s pretty awful considering the D and ST. So for me, I’m now on board the 2-10 or 3-9 last place offensive ranking train. Anything that gets Brian fired.
Ideally we could go 11-1 and eek out 10 more 7-6 type wins, then fire/demote Brian and hand over reigns to literally anyone decent and give them the leeway to play and coach how they want. Shred the zone blocking and concepts that are dead in modern era/rules of CFB. Basically Kirk does the SMART thing, prudent if you will, and just oversees things as CEO while letting Levar, Phil, and Alan Lomax call the plays.
Had he just (I type that in a pleading manner) taken that approach after 2015, we are building a dynasty type situation and cleaning house in recruiting far more than we have even.
This complementary football bullshit…how do 3 and outs or turnovers help complement anything? We don’t and haven’t had the ability to go on long drives to rest the D, we aren’t protecting the football, some of the play calls are insane and put us in worse situations or kill drives, and you can pin teams deeper with an offense that can generate a few first downs. This Ferentzian need to dictate offensive philosophy is just so beyond me. Nor is the stubborn refusal to adopt to what is now allowed in CFB, like the transfer portal, offensive modernization, etc etc.
Anyways, 2-10 or 3-9 is what is needed. Barta isn’t making a change with 7-5 no matter how bad it is. We’ll just get promises or new Kirk 4.0.
Blah blah tldr. There is no hope, fuck everything, Go HokZ (all this typed while sitting on the toilet in my miniature bathroom with pinkish walls, a Herky picture hanging askew on the wall —so weird btw — and random prescription bottles and other assorted shit spread on my counter).
CID
Third Down!
I cannot condone this The Criminal enterprise.Anyone not booing this shit is directly endorsing the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Not impressed until you boo the wave.I booed the dance team too
Then how does Kirk justify not making the switch in-game when Petras was godawful? It goes back to my post Saturday. There is no off-ramp that doesn’t declare in big flashing lights that a switch should have been made Saturday. You can’t change for Nevada without declaring you screwed up with the decision in-game Saturday. First post-game question would be, “why didn’t you make this change at halftime of the game you pissed away last week?”I don't think so. I think Padilla starts next week.
His face got fed up with being associated with him and was last seen running over the hilltop with its hair on fire.At this point he looks like a retard no matter what. It is so fucking far beyond the point of saving face all you can do is laugh.
This was my point as well. It’s too late. No matter what he does he lost his chance to not look stupid. That went away when Spencer came out for the third series. That was his last chance to save face.At this point he looks like a retard no matter what. It is so fucking far beyond the point of saving face all you can do is laugh.
The ISU fans I talked to even seemed less than thrilled with how their team looked against a team with no offenseISU is a bad football team. Should have beat these guys. Still pissed of about it.
Has a team has ever gotten three turnovers and blocked two punts and still lost the game? I have a hard time believing that’s ever happened beforeISU is a bad football team. Should have beat these guys. Still pissed of about it.
Kirk would never stand for a non-existent defense that forced every game into a 56-55 shootout. He would scoff at that type of football. But there is no difference between trying to win in that manner and trotting out the worst offense in the country. They aren’t complementary in any way shape or form. The offense makes everything acute.
There are two groups of ISU fans this week. The ISU fans I talked to even seemed less than thrilled with how their team looked against a team with no offense
We can apply the small angle approximation to the offense. It is absurd.Kirk would never stand for a non-existent defense that forced every game into a 56-55 shootout. He would scoff at that type of football. But there is no difference between trying to win in that manner and trotting out the worst offense in the country.
And neither are remotely close to "complimentary" football.
Fuck.
Is there anyone even talking about the outcome of the game? Iowas offense is the only thing anyone has talked about. If Pottebaum doesn’t fumble that ball, the only thing anyone is talking about is Iowas offense in a 14-3 win. No one gives a shit because of how inept the offense is.The win can't be nearly as enjoyable for Iowa State fans as it should be, given how the vast majority of Iowa fans feel about the current state of their own program.
Fixed it for youThere are two groups of ISU fans this week.
1. Those who actually know what they’re looking at, and see red flags all over barely beating a team with no offense.
*2. Morons.
*=includes all those belonging to group 1 as well
