That was quite the season, as others have noted, not sure what we watched and how they won. The opponent has the ball at midfield in a tie game with 23 seconds and Iowa somehow kicks a 38 yard field goal to win in that timeframe.
The QB play is just awful in addition to WR's dropping passes. A kicker that had two kick offs go out of bounds and is kicking short field goals barely over the line and getting them blocked.
A fired OC that has no idea what he is doing
An elite DC that for some reason had a bad defensive call that was exploited and it is just one touchdown, but, feels like a enormous mistake. The defense basically has to play an almost perfect game, which is the basis for complementary football it appears.

10 wins

Sports are something

I ended up in a hotel last night when my buddy's wife declared that they were getting a divorce.

That football game loss hits people in different ways it seems.
That’s pretty awesome. I once broke up with a girlfriend of a couple years while on vacation with her and her friends, but not waiting until out of town guests have left to end a marriage is fantastic.

Wow. Talk about taking a loss Purdy hard.

Most people just drink their sorrows away after their team loses a game. Divorcing a spouse over one seems like quite a drastic step, but I guess it is Nebrantska and an ongoing bowl-less streak.

He really comes across as a pathetic loser and is the perfect portrayal for that program, someone who is past their prime and mired in the past.
The tears come from the realization that Nebrantska isn't going to be good in the years he has remaining.

Too lazy to look it up - what did Kf say about the kicking change?

KF is willing to bench a kicker for his backup whom has never kicked a FG for his team, on the road, with the game, a trophy, and a ten win season on the line.
Will not bench a QB for any reason ever.
* who has never kicked a FG

Still annoying how every running back on every carry seems to actively try to run away from the hole into contact as fast as possible
I know ol Frodo is being funny…but he’s not wrong. Johnson has an annoying habit of running full speed right in to his OLine on an absurdly high percentage of his plays.

Kirk mentioned 1920s Iowa football in yesterday's post game press conference

You're exactly right. Programs like Nebby and ISU are building towards championships and have higher ambitions than beating Iowa. You have to understand the ethos of a truly elite program, and not just focus on actual results.

We aren't that far away from the point where most of their success and championships are not modern day. Heck, pretty much anyone under the age of 25 has never personally seen Nebrantska win much of anything.
No. They haven’t. At all. No one they recruit has any actual idea of Nebrantska being a power. In a year or two none of their grad assistants will have even been born the last time they played in one yet alone won a national title.

I believe all of their success was in the late 20th century.

A child born on the day of Nebrantska's last bowl game (Dec. 30th, 2016) will be a semester from being a 4th grader by the time Nebrantska can play their next possible bowl game in 2024.

That is incredibly embarrassing. In that time, they have spent $70m on head coaching salaries and buyouts.

I wonder if their evaluation of Iowa's program is still happening (although in maybe a totally different way :roflmao:)?

Nebrantska head coaching salaries and buyouts since 2005 - $145m for a 131-107 record.

Iowa head coaching salaries and buyouts since 2005 - $85m for a 154-86 record.

That's $5m profit compared to A&M

It kind of sucks, Johnson is maybe the perfect back to run the outside zone with the old blocking rules. He's fast and strong and almost too patient.

I bet he'd have been good in the Wing T, assuming a good line.

On the vision thing, I think it's OK at the second level. Just not so much at the LOS. Leshun Daniels wasn't very good at the LOS, either, but if he got going, he was pretty tough to handle.
