Shorten the game and get creative with counters and sweeps to get Johnson the ball as much as possible hoping he can break a couple. Tell the DBs they can’t get beat deep under any circumstance and hope Will Howard channels JT Barrett as they’re forced to work down the field somewhat methodically.

All that said I’ll be glad if we keep it within 2 scores and even 3 wouldn’t be too bad.

We gonna fucking WIN
Except for 3rd word, that's what LB Andre Jackson told me in McDonalds on the Sunday night before the 1973 opener against Michigan. He and another player asked if he could sit at the table with me and my girlfriend, due to the packed house. I naturally asked if they were ready for Saturday and got the response.

As we left, I heard the other guy ask "who was that guy". Andre said he didn't know, but he'd "like to know his girlfriend". Pretty sure he liked me too, though.

I went into Kinnick on Saturday with high hopes. 31-7. Coulda been worse.

I just hope they stop eating the pets of the people that live there
Have you been to a game there before? I haven't. I might be able to shoot up there for the weekend.

Anybody else here going?

This isn't a great Ohio State team and we might hang around for a bit, but our lack of offense will eventually wear down the defense.

I think Ohio State is great in pretty much every area except QB. LB play might be a relative weakness, but that defense is elite.

My hope in this one is that we come away surprised that Iowa was still running the ball effectively. Lester has touted his scheme as one that college defenses rarely see, so maybe OSU has to think a bit more than usual and KJ breaks a couple of long runs. I really don’t see any other path to victory that involves Cade throwing the ball other than play actions to Lachey and Ostrenga.

I think BBK has the correct score.

Your enthusiasm is commendable. But there’s someone else who frequents this board that has the point spread slightly higher than you do.
Hmmmm @Geese do you have any thoughts on this?

God damn that's a great story. You can really spin a yarn, Chip. And unlike about 99% of HaLo, I believe it is 100% true

Marshall moved the ball quite a damn bit against them last week, but I certainly acknowledge their motivation level was likely low for that contest. Oh and I'm sure Marshall's QB is 10 times better than ours, as is nearly every QB in the entire country

I put it in the other thread, but Iowa going to win this one. Will Howard is a paper tiger and Phil Parker going to make him look stupid and Iowa will likely hurt him at some point.

Ohio State will get caught looking forward to the Oregon game.

No way we win this. But I’d be happy to see Johnson go for at least 100 yards again

Cade vs. OSU defense is going to be ugly.
It won’t be any different. He misses open receivers and checks down. If he actually attempts a throw downfield I would agree with you but he doesn’t. You can assume the only difference will be more sacks and throw aways. That’s the only difference we will see in the passing game.

I think this is the game he gets hurt and never wears an Iowa uniform again...

...and then we all lived happily ever after
I don’t wish for this to happen to anyone but I have to agree that this game doesn’t set up well for Cade. Good D and some bad pass protection is a tough combo for a guy with a peg leg.

When you run for 250+ you don’t need to throw.

It looks like we had seven! guys on offense in 2017 that spent time on an NFL roster, with a number of them still starting. We might have two this time around.

What? Iowa has at least 5-6 on offense right now that will spend time on an NFL roster, with multiple that will start at some point.
