L-O-EFFING-L!

You all can just preemptively fuck right off of your high horse on ever complaining about weak ISU discipline.

74 mph in a 35 mph zone with a BAC of .15 at 1:30 AM the night after a game = 1 game suspension

Ferentz algebra
If it were Hall The Ames PD would give him an escort home.

I would have been fine with kicking him off the team.

(It’s football algebra)

Hey, at least they punished him like they pretty much always do in this situation.

Iowa State would have had the local cops call Fred and this would have gone away quietly.

Even that weak ass suspension for what he did was severe by ISU standards

Also who was the defensive end that ISU let play as soon as he got out of jail for a strong arm robbery in 2003. Tyson smith or something like that. Was only suspended the games he was in jail for

Here's the tweet. I think it is likely he'll be out for more than a game.

Smith is/was a potential middle round draft pick. I get it that you can make stupid choices at that age but those kind of decision making skills are going to bite him in the arse.

Would be unfortunate if he had to come back for another year.

oh no, it's going perfectly fine. Deflection, deflection, deflection.
He's suspended for a game and likely more, the same as the other similar punishments.

Lol that you think they should throw him off the team, which would be the worst possible look of all time at the moment.

Dude, fuck off. Iowa State had a guy suspended one game for an OWI. He and two others sat out a few minutes of the SDSU game before it was cancelled and were eligible to play the following week against Iowa.

Here's an actual quote from a man's dick you suck:
“That would be naive to think it’s just a game. All situations are different,” he said.

Iowa just has too many games where they don’t have any rhythm in the run game. The stretch run on 2nd and 1 after the Koerner interception may have been the play call that lost the game.
Especially since they checked into it, FFS

I suspect they are coached that overthrow is better. But even if that’s not the case they should be getting coached that they have really good receivers and get it within a 6 yard circle of them and they’ll make a play.
It's the old "long is never wrong" theory.

Iowa has been checking into unproductive run plays for years now and it's fucking maddening.
It’s a simple count and BAM! unstoppable advantage! Anyone can do it!

I know it is confirmation bias but it feels like switching their check would result in teams way overplaying the outside zone. Canzeri against Illinois 2015 comes to mind (although I guess that could have been a call and a fake check.).

One of the blogs posted something a year or so ago there being certain formations almost entirely predicting the play call. I'm sure I'm not remembering the specifics correctly, but it was something like 2TE 1 WR sets being zone runs like 100% of the time.

I mean, it was pretty obvious that Paddy Fisher knew exactly what was coming on a large portion of the run plays Brian called. It's been like that since he got to NW and nothing has changed.

I watched a breakdown of a few plays online from the past few years - on 3rd and short runs that are going to the short side, it's clear most defenses aren't even remotely worried about play action or a QB keeper. You have 9/11 defenders on the field swarming the short side at the snap.

And by the way, to head off @Fair and Balanced, this isn't a "I think they should have obviously called something different because the play didn't work." I understand that sometimes good plays just aren't going to work.

There's just something especially maddening as a fan about watching your team walk up to the line, survey the defense, call an audible, and then watch the defense stuff the everliving shit out of your team.
