Right, but you're pointing out like 10 over a 25 year period, and only 2-3 of them were truly good.I mean, I'm not really arguing- just pointing out that IOWA has had some good receivers over the years.
Get pissed!Well his first year that’s all he played.
That is so bad as to be hilarious. Holy shit nil could do WORK here. Here’s the list of Iowa WRs to record stats in the NFL. (Does not include old timey ends) Also, Kahlil Hill and Riley McCarron combined for two games as returners.
Also also, Charlie Jones has an appearance on special teams and the three catches of Derrick Willies do not appear, even though Jones does in returns.

lol that is amazingExtending it to non-TE/RBs, Jake Gervase, Karl Klug, and Amani Hooker have a combined three receptions.
Parker Hesse, who played DE at Iowa, has more NFL catches than all KF-era WR recruits combined.
Not being very good might have something to do with that. Parker Hesse, who played DE at Iowa has more nfl catches than all KF wr recruits combined. Why, they don't really get used enough to make it worthwhile
Who are you arguing with that thinks Iowa has NEVER had A good receiver here? That Iowa never gets a good wide receiver?
Who are you arguing with that thinks Iowa has NEVER had A good receiver here?
we have landed many of our top qb targets over the past ten years, Duggan being the big exception.
we have never get good receivers. We don’t throw the ball enough. Two of our best ever came in as qb’s.
Brown and McNutt might have been the 2 best and didn’t even make the list.
McNutt was recruited as a QB too though.
While I get your point
Danan Hughes
Cj Jones
Tim Dwight
Clinton Solomon
Ed Hinkle
ISM
Brandon Smith
Prob others
Were pretty decent WR. Prob is they weren't overly utilized. Focus on TE hurts number of targets.
lol thats fuckin hystericalExtending it to all non-TE/RBs, Jake Gervase, Karl Klug, and Amani Hooker have a combined three receptions.

lol thats fuckin football

Well, when you put it that way ...Here’s the list of Iowa WRs to record stats in the NFL. (Does not include old timey ends) Also, Kahlil Hill and Riley McCarron combined for two games as returners.
Also also, Charlie Jones has an appearance on special teams and the three catches of Derrick Willies do not appear, even though Jones does in returns.

I think the staff made a conscious decision not to emphasize the WR position because they deny they’d have more success in recruiting TEs that would buy into the program philosophy.we don’t get good receivers.
we sometimes develop ok receivers.
This doesn't make sense. Not just that I disagree with the sentiment, but the words in the order you placed them is incoherent.I think the staff made a conscious decision not to emphasize the WR position because they deny they’d have more success in recruiting TEs that would buy into the program philosophy.
Most good receiver recruits are black and most good tight end recruits are white. There you have it.I think the staff made a conscious decision not to emphasize the WR position because they deny they’d have more success in recruiting TEs that would buy into the program philosophy.
That’s truly incredible.Extending it to all non-TE/RBs, Jake Gervase, Karl Klug, and Amani Hooker have a combined three receptions.
Parker Hesse, who played DE at Iowa, has more NFL catches than all KF-era WR recruits combined.
That’s utterly retarded and you should feel great shame.I think the staff made a conscious decision not to emphasize the WR position because they deny they’d have more success in recruiting TEs that would buy into the program philosophy.
It was posted in the other thread already, you fucking idiot. Sweet edit!
Or prideI have no shame

This is correct. Why, they don't really get used enough to make it worthwhile

Willie Guy was the highest rated WR they ever got, didn't pan out.We lost out on receiver after receiver in the 80s, despite having a coach with a passing reputation, an extremely good OC and 7 years worth of All-Big 10 quarterbacks.
Treye Jackson was a huge coup, but he was an Iowa kid. And unfortunately, he couldn't catch. Robert Smith had a 4-star rating, but was a HS running back and never a pure receiver (Kaleb Brown?). Quinn Early was the best of the bunch, but got minor recruiting mention as a 160 pound "sleeper". He didn't really "arrive" until his 4th year. Hughes was a solid get, probably like a Rivals 5.6 3-star today. Keith Chappelle was a great get with teammate bohannon, but I don't think they were fighting blue bloods for him. Moritz and the walk-ons saved the bacon, along with Harmon agreeing to put off playing RB for a couple of years.
Tim Brown was THE miss, along with Fairfield's Milt Jackson two years earlier. National #1 receiver Alvin Miller of St. Louis visited in '83, but joined Jackson and Brown at Notre Dame.
Pretty sure he played QB in HSWillie Guy was the highest rated WR they ever got, didn't pan out.
He did. Had a slew of TDs and punt returns. But Zabel (or maybe Cotlar) had one of the recruiting gurus on the old WHO Sportsline show who put the brakes on the "can't miss" label. Said he would have to learn a new position and that his speed was good, but certainly not blazing.Pretty sure he played QB in HS
Pride of East MolineBut I would have taken him over the Skillet/Skinner combo
