It's too bad that the way player movement is evolving leads to people speculating about the early departure of someone they've never seen play a minute of college basketball. However, there isn't much difference between cheerleading for someone like Brady Ellingson to leave, which I've done, and starting in on a kid before he even sets foot on campus. I wouldn't bet on Brady becoming a major contributor down the road, but in the past one of the most enjoyable parts of being a fan of college basketball (especially with a program like Iowa) was watching players who came in with modest expectations (or none, as in Baer's case) develop and turn into very productive players. It doesn't happen all that often, but it's great to watch when it does.
