His recruiting profile is horrible, and I understand highlight videos are meant to do this (he never misses!), but he looks fairly impressive.
Oh I think he looks better than that. /nh

This would sort of be like the Christian Williams signing. Late spring on a tall combo guard you think can develop and play the point.

Just curious as to why you see him as a point guard. That'd be nice. In watching his video, it doesn't look like he is a plus ball handler. But he's long and lanky and athletic. Versatile. Blocks shots and runs well in the open floor. Can hit threes. Basically a fran recruit through and through

Seems a little better than that though. He finished a couple times in traffic in those few clips.

But yeah his vision makes you think he could play point at some point.

My favorite part of that highlight video was their inability to put the highlight circle on Dailey.

He looks like a stud.

6'6" and he says he's still growing.

There doesn't appear to be anything not to like.

long, athletic, attacks the rim and shoots the 3

looks like a mid-major recruit who made big progress as a senior. prototype fran material.

I don't know if he can be a primary ball handler but it gives you another 6'6 guy who can shoot with good vision who can make plays. That video was a lot better than I was expecting after searching for his profile.

If Fran feels like it's worth taking Dailey over holding that scholarship for 2017 given some of the players he's in on that Iowa sits well with, then it tells us all we need to know. They like him a lot.

Or maybe he struck gold and Brady is planning on leaving.

OR maybe Fran talked to Marty and has an idea that another 6'6 guard is planning on not coming back.

I don't know about a primary ball handler, but there were a few clips in that video where he seems like he sees the court pretty well and had some really crisp passes.

I'd be surprised if another scholarship wasn't available for the 2017 class. Seems like it's do or die time for Brady, but even a guy like Kreiner could get boxed out early and leave.

If they sign this kid, it really puts the pressure on Ellingson to come out on fire and be a 45% from three kind of player. Right now he is competing with Williams, Jok, bohannon and Moss for minutes at his position. Add in this guy and that is 5 players that he is competing with.

The only thing that can separate him is knock down shooting. I wonder if Fran gives him another opportunity and pulls the plug on him a lot quicker this time. He is also in trouble if bohannon picks it up quickly and hits shots.

It also wouldn't be out of the question that they sign this kid, Jok comes back and Ellingson ends up transferring later this month.

If (when) Brady sucks this year there will be even more pressure to transfer with Mccaffery coming in.

It's too bad that the way player movement is evolving leads to people speculating about the early departure of someone they've never seen play a minute of college basketball. However, there isn't much difference between cheerleading for someone like Brady Ellingson to leave, which I've done, and starting in on a kid before he even sets foot on campus. I wouldn't bet on Brady becoming a major contributor down the road, but in the past one of the most enjoyable parts of being a fan of college basketball (especially with a program like Iowa) was watching players who came in with modest expectations (or none, as in Baer's case) develop and turn into very productive players. It doesn't happen all that often, but it's great to watch when it does.

Fran has played the Ellingson situation perfectly fine. No need to send him packing, especially this late. Give him another year, see if he becomes a 3 point specialist. If not, those things tend to work themselves out and Ellingson would probably search for PT elsewhere. But in terms of depth and preparing for a possible Jok departure, Fran did the right thing.

FWIW, Dailey is now following Pemsl on Twitter as well. All signs point to an iowa committment tomorrow afternoon.

A ton of Iowa staff, writers and players are following him now. It is safe to say he is going to commit.

I just learned from an unimpeachable source that Maishe is pronounced "MAY-she."

Opposing student sections (or maybe home student sections) are already planning to respond to his introduction with "YES, SHE MAY...DAILY!"

LOLOLOL given who this is coming from. You painfully lack self awareness.

No, we would be making fun of Cyclone fans getting silly over it.

COMBO GUARD U!

We here know what he is. A lightly recruited kid with a decent video, and the 13th scholarship. No expectations or risk.

He reminds me of Jameel McKay with a 3 point shot.

Duke and UNC didn't bother offering because they knew Iowa was interested. Just like Hummel.

Point to one person saying anything more than "looks like he can play".

If this were a Cyclone recruit, there would be 5 threads discussing if he was NBA Draft ready or if North Carolina was rumored to have offered at the last minute.
