Speraw doesn't seem to do a lot of recruiting outside of iowa, but he seems to be Fran's go to guy on true coaching aspects of the game. The other two coaches don't seem to do much recruiting. When Andrew Francis was an assistant it was consistently he and Fran as the main recruiters for most everyone. Now without Francis, I have no idea who the other "recruiter" would be.
From what I can tell, Courtney Eldridge is doing an outstanding job of getting Iowa involved with kids from the east coast prep schools, like Dasonte Bowen and Kyle Filipowski in 2022 and Taylor Bowen and TJ Power in 2023. It seems he has really helped expand Iowa’s recruiting reach.

How would anyone know?
Figured you might have more insight than the rest of us. Speraw seems to be pretty dialed in on coaching (to my untrained eye), and Taylor has some rumblings of being a good recruiter, but I just don’t ever hear anything about Sherm.

This has been mentioned but why would Jbo come back to be oppressed by the NCAA for another year. Get out there and wish people a Happy Birthday like Gessel for $11.

And I am tired of hearing about Jbo's and Iowa's defense improving when they were playing teams like MSU, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebrantska.

If I was AT PRACTICE!!! I might be able to offer an opinion but then so could you.

Glad I could help.

Pretty sure Gesell got an associate position with a pretty good Morgan Stanley shop right after graduation. If he is selling clips for $11, yikes.

To Niang's point, who does Iowa go to in crunch time? Who is the alpha?
Whenever this type of question comes up, I would like to remind everyone that going into the 2019-2020 season less than 18 months ago that Luka Garza was a 13 point scorer and a fairly shitty rebounder at 4.5 per game. He couldn't even stay on the court 24 minutes per game.

It's college and players develop. Some develop in ways you would have never imagined. Luka was the prime example of this. Keegan Murray has already shown leaps of development. I think he continues to take them and is even more of a crunch time scorer than Luka was due to his versatility.

Tony Perkins showed an ability to create his own shot and is very athletic. A full year in the program and a normal offseason and possible starting position, he could take a jump to the 10-12 points per game level.

As for the crunch time question, the answer seems obvious, yo.

I like that the elementary school principal from Billy Madison is at the scorers table

I always like telling young kids that second place is really first loser.
