This could be true, but sure feels a lot like the Tyler Cook to Missouri stuff from a few years back.
Right, and seems to be more wishful thinking.

I love CJ and don't want to lose him, but at the same time he was a shell of himself for a good portion of 2 straight seasons and if I remember correctly he had issues his redshirt year as well.

It took him from a sharp shooting, solid defending and fearless player to a pump faking hesitating low confidence player that couldn't stay in front of anyone.

I know and I still don’t buy it and we’ve been there with Cook to Mizzou. It’s somewhat weird that this has been in Kentucky circles for a while now. Would assume it’s been coming from somewhere on his side.

it started with a completely speculative blog article about potential current NCAA players who could help Kentucky.

I also lol thinking that Calipari is sitting there watching Oregon vs. Iowa and saying to himself "gotta get that CJ Fredrick kid!!"
They couldn’t shoot for shit this year, so maybe he thinks he can hide his weaknesses and just stretch the floor.

He needs to go see 5 foot specialist. I’m guessing he’ll pay a little more attention to his diet this summer as well.

That's really not that meaningful. There have been 7 times in Fran's 11 years where Iowa's defensive efficiency changed by that much for better or worse year over year. Creighton was in the 40s/50s a few years ago.

Yeah that’s a terrible example. Here’s the timeline:
2017- 46
2018- 58
Lusk is hired
2019- 83
2020- 78
2021- 32

I can dig it’s a bad example, and out of curiosity what are Iowa’s rankings over Fran’s tenure?

That 2018 lineup was particularly bad. Cook and Baer were good shot blockers but complete matadors in the lane. bohannon was bohannon. You had a young Garza who was an even worse defender. Woof.

Ina 247 article, Mulvey’s AAU coach was raving about him as a monster defensive presence. Says he’s the anchor, rim protector, communicates, gets everyone in their spots and cleans up mistakes. Then he made some lofty comparisons that you’d take with a a grain of salt but he has at least run a high level program. Would be awesome if he was a little more athletic Woodbury.

Yea, that 2018 defense was horrible. I remember getting thrashed in that high school gym in the non conference tournament against a bunch of low mid-major teams.

It certainly seems less likely a kid who was willing to initially walk on to play for Fran would transfer. But who knows anymore. I know he's tight with Wieskamp

Holy shit I forgot about that. The Cayman Islands Classic on FloTv. Games against Louisiana (L), South Dakota State (L), and UAB (W). Woof.

Woodbury’s defensive fundamentals and communication with Gabes athleticism and Garza’s offensive. Add in Wilts sexual exploits and maybe we can make the sweet 16.

I think bohannon might be shocked to find out how many people don't actually like him or give a shit about him now.
Yes

Now that he is not an Iowa Basketball player anymore, I hope to never see him or hear from him again.

Also saw that Toussaint RT’d this. I’m still going to hold out hope that he can figure it out enough to just be a little above average on offense.

Joe seems like a really great kid. His Instagram stuff is always positive and I look forward to seeing what he can give Iowa for a few more years.

He would be pretty good if he could shoot a decent 3 pt percentage when people play under screens or when he is standing still.

He’s going to grad transfer somewhere because he realizes it’s the only way he’s staying relevant
