Not sure where this person is getting the info, but they claim Rebraca will likely only be at Iowa for one year.

Thats a fan account that is likely a 247 subscriber. I think Eikholt predicted he’d only be at Iowa one year. With that said Rebraca appears to be pretty academically driven so I could see him wanting to complete his masters under scholarship before going overseas.

Honestly this is a pretty damn good team if Wieskamp returns. I don’t believe he will but I think it could be one of Frans better teams if he does. I know “built for March” is kinda dumb but I think we are all ready for a different kind of team makeup after last year and this team will have that with or without JW.

They just interviewed Rebraca on KCJJ here in Iowa City. He said he plans to be here two years, and wants to get an MBA. He did mention the possibility of turning pro if he had some unexpectedly incredible season, but it definitely didn't seem like Plan A.

Our fanbase is so fucking overreactionary. I honestly see very little reason to look at next year‘s roster and not be excited. Are there a shitload of unknowns? Sure. But Fran can fucking coach and he will change his style to fit his roster. I am also personally excited to see Sandfort likely stepping into a more important role that he probably expected when he signed. He can seriously fucking shoot. It would not surprise me to see him have a surprise freshman your impact similar to CJ.

I don't think being skeptical of a team losing Garza, bohannon, Nunge, Fredrick and likely(?) Joe W is all that much of an over reaction.

Sure, wanting to can Fran because of it is stupid, but this was always a probable down year.

All true. I think most look through the lens of “how will we replace what was lost?” Which isn’t the right way to evaluate it.

Iowa was bad because they didn’t have enough returning experience like, three years ago.

the last time iowa lost a big senior class that you knew was coming they missed the tournament by one game.

Iowa was bad the following year because they had zero athletic guards or depth

Iowa's guards next year will be the most athletic and quick group we have had in quite a while. Shooting will be a bit of a question mark but honestly most of Fran's early teams scored by driving to the hoop. I think we see more of that.

They'll be entertaining. Probably pretty frustrating, especially on defense, but they won't be dull.

I actually think they will be better on defense, other than against teams that have a monster post. Certainly have to be better on the perimeter and help side D/blocks should be alright

Iowa got rid of the full time MBA program. Is someone in the part-time program eligible to play NCAA sports?

Iowa isn't going to find a better shooter, but I would be disappointed if he comes back. I'd rather grab some lower level stand in a corner guy and see what happens with Toussaint and Ulis at the point.

It was already pointed out, but this isn't really true. They were bad in 2014 because they had to run a fat banged up bohannon out there as the only guy that could dribble with Brady Ellingson and Maishe Daily as the backup.

The second Fran had 2 guys that could dribble they were a point away from going to the Sweet 16.

I fucking despise bohannon coming back, but IF he does then might as well talk about how it can/would work.

It wasn't like both Toussaint or Ulis were going to start, so that isn't a big issue. CJ was of course going to start at SG, so if you put bohannon there with Perkins playing a lot of minutes at SG, then it could work. The thing you don't want is bohannon playing PG.

I don’t like the idea of bohannon coming back, but if he does I hope it’s as a shooting guard who can dribble, rather than a slow point guard who can shoot.
