Who's a realistic candidate at a&m? Expectations are dumb but so is the money

Here are the other jobs that might come open very soon....

- California (might not because they don't have the $$ to fire anyone)
- Florida
- Indiana
- Houston

I posted it in the other thread, but the top choices seem to be Lane Kiffin, Kalen DeBoer and Dan Lanning.

There is literally no coach in the country worth this sort of money other than Nick Saban, but he's 72 years old. No other living coach can guarantee you the results that he can. Paying even half this money is stupid.

That even goes for Kirby Smart. I'm not sure if you take him out of Georgia tomorrow and put him at Texas A&M that he can replicate what he is doing.

I was thinking Franklin might be done at PSU, this scapegoating makes me think otherwise

It's my understanding that Franklin is fairly well beloved by the PSU fanbase.

I thought he might leave on his own accord, before he loses to OSU and Michigan again next year and his value takes another hit

It’s tough to find a coach with both mediocre results and rape cover up.

Mississippi State, now there's a place where head coaches go to die. I think Mullen has been about the only one with success there that I can remember, and he bolted for a better job in conference when he could.

I'm going to guess that Mullen goes back and they re-hire him.

Mike Leach looked like he was starting to have some success until he died there. Oh wait, that is what you said.

Moorhead was the weird hire there. That also seemed to clip his wings a ton because he’s struggling at Akron now.

I dunno about that. I know the inability to beat the top of the conference was a big topic of their off-season.

Their QB coaching looks especially questionable, Levis transferred and got better, Clifford has looked better in a limited NFL sample. Aller has the tools but isn’t lighting football on fire. Maybe firing the OC will help, but Franklin is running out of excuses.

My former employer forced out the CEO last summer and named the CFO interim. I believe she is being considered for the permanent role. It’s like, why? She signed off on every bad financial decision for the past 20 years.
