I took coaching baseball taught by Duane Banks at Iowa. The class was made up of Iowa athletes from wrestling, basketball and baseball. The first day of class Banks said if you don't miss a class and take all the tests you will get no worse than a B, but every class you miss would knock you down a grade. Within the first two weeks Brian Garner and Ray Thompson had missed multiple classes. Troy Skinner and Wade Lookingbill would just shrug their shoulders when Duane would ask where Garner and Thompson were. This was first semester 1989. Thompson and Garner were ineligible after that semester.
