Iowa had to let Joel EmFeed get whatever she wanted for awhile as long as they kept it close for long enough to put Stuelke on her. At that point ISU couldn’t make the lob pass over the top and they had no counter to go to.

Stretches of that game were just brutal to watch though.

I watched a little. Has that girl gotten much, much fatter? She’s going to struggle to move if she gets much bigger.

She was already struggling to move by the 4th quarter. You could tell she couldn’t do it anymore.

It made me laugh when Hannah knocked the ball out of her hands and she fell face first and was completely helpless laying there while everybody else scrambled for the loose ball.

The nature of the game means she'll score a bunch of points, but she's going to be useless in end game situations against equal competition, and her best years are probably going to be early in her career.

Taller teams are going to continue to give them real problems, but that is true for most WBB teams. She is going to score a lot of points and they are going to be a good resume win for the hawks.

There should be some concern that injuries are going to start happening and will be significant, similar to Zion Williamson. However they are completely different types of athletes

I feel bad for her but she unfortunately needs to go back in time a few years and do something cool for her midlife crisis.

I have heard nothing but great things about the kid, but college basketball is being used as a way to justify a lifestyle that is simply unhealthy. No 20 year old as active as she is should be anywhere near that big. What happens in three years when she is done with college?

this is coming from someone who regularly uses college sports as a way to justify an unhealthy lifestyle.

She's a fat lazy fuck and we would say the same thing about a man in the same shape so it can and should be said about her. Talented player who is going to eat her way out of any future in basketball.

I’m not really sure Big Cuntry has gotten any bigger since HS though. She was very very large back then, too which was quite unfair against her 1A competition.

I was impressed by Jan Jensen's growth as a head coach last night. She screwed up pretty bad against Tennessee in the 2nd half by not playing her talented freshman and it led to Iowa getting worn down and then blitzed at the end with a bad combination of players to close that game out.

Last night she was patient and corrected that mistake. They got down, didn't panic and hit a couple big threes in a row from her seniors, but she didn't use that as an excuse to only play them in the 4th quarter. She mixed in her more talented freshmen, adjusted to sit O'Grady and Feuerbach on the bench and covered Crooks with Stuelke. She let Stremlow and Guyton provide energy and playmaking / shooting and it led to the opposite result of the Tennessee game.

I dont know how Fennelly gets anyone that's any good to play for them; they're still doing that thing where they only let one player be really good every single game.

Iowa should be really good for years to come. The 4 freshmen are all really good and Guyton might end up being the best, but all are excellent starters and role players at a minimum. They get a potential star next year along with the tallest and biggest post they have had in years that will help them compete.

Mix in a high level transfer portal player similar to Olsen and a role player like Molly Davis when needed, and they should be a damn near perennial Top 10 program.

I think Mallegni has the potential to be the best of any of them / highest ceiling, but she has the biggest adjustment to the college game.

Clones should be really good in a couple years with most of their starting lineup being sophomores. That is, if their best player doesn’t eat herself out of the game or her body inevitably wears down.

That's a big reason he's had such a high attrition rate lately.

That 4th quarter lineup of Olsen at 1, Feuerbach/Guyton at 2, Stremlow at 3, Affolter at 4 and Stuelke at 5 was solid.

I'd venture to guess that Bill's assistant coach Rob Jenkins will be married/engaged/dating a former ISU women's basketball player within the next 4 years if Jenkins is still in Ames.

I really like Jan Jensen. I actually watched the press conference after the game last night, and she is just a really likable person. She's engaging with the media, very supportive of the players, appreciative of the fans and her opportunity. We like to complain, but when it comes to quality people, we are very lucky to have the head coaches we do. Ferentz, McCaffery, Jensen, Brands. These are people that we can be proud of, not every school is lucky enough to be in our position.
