His blocking was awesome and just makes it even more baffling that it took them 3 months to figure out that he's the best back on the team

What did Kirk say postgame regarding injuries, specifically, Goodson? Dolph always raises that question.

They knew which is why hes been playing- hes a freshman- so they were prob trying to work him up to an increased workload. Plus not wanting to get him hurt

The other thing they did last night late that I loved and wish they'd tried more earlier this year (or the last two years for that matter) was giving AJ snaps at DT on passing downs. He was way too quick off the ball for the Minnesota interior.

Not sure about Iowa injuries but he did mention that they need to add medical professional to the resume of the Minnesota coach.

goodson has got dinged in several games. As good as he is you can’t expect most true frosh to hold up in big ten all season.

It is ridiculous. He made a comment that he wants to be the first thing they see when they open their eyes....you have a medical staff idiot

Flecks postgame interview was a fucking classic. He sounded like a tweaker trying to explain on the fly to the police why he crashed his car into a building.
I was immediately reminded of Allen Iverson talking about practice. :icon_rolleyes: At least AI wasn't bullshitting anyone!

Shade for days. That comment had me rolling. :roflmao: Even Mary got in on the postgame interview, for whatever reason lmao.

Just by the way the team social media accounts, Tyler Barnes’ twitter account and Kirks comment to Dolph yesterday reacted you can tell the 2 coaches this program despises are Fleck and Campbell.

I think it's probable that he'd never blocked in his life and didn't get it, even a little, at the beginning of camp.

The light bulb is now coming on and he has figured out how to block a guy coming at him with a full head of steam w/out getting killed/scared/pwned.

They were also the two Brian called out in an interview a couple years ago

Kirk needs to hate Paul Chyrst. Focus the offseason on that.

Has the new Hawk Vision Hawk been mentioned yet? That was a good troll but we should keep doing it.

I thought the PI call against Moss in the south end zone was the worst call
LOL that call was pretty obvious. Maybe a hold instead of PI, but it was an easy call.
It was a mistake for Minnesota down 20-3 to kick the field goal instead of run one play for 7 points from 2 yards out. It penalty didn't matter as they kicked the field goal.

They also used it for opposing team FTs at the basketball game on Friday night. I had hoped they would use it for FGs on Saturday, and then there it was! :icon_lol:

The Fleck love from the media is a bit premature. A significant number of their stars were already at Minnesota or recruited by previous staff. Also, didn’t they win 9 games right before PJ took over?

The TV was weird this morning, probably because I’m a homer but I think I’m right about this.

The media making this game about Minnesota or acting like them losing to an Iowa team favored at home is somehow an “upset” is absurd. Minnesota’s only quality win was Penn St who imploded.

They were and are fake news even if they somehow beat Wisconsin, who is very good but not great. Even if they do they'll get sandblasted in Indy and probably their bowl game.

I like beating Minnesota, especially now that Fleck is there but Iowa winning that game is expected and a loss to them should be inexcusable, much like ISU.

The postgame show focused on how MN “lost” the game, not how Iowa won. The talking heads continued this narrative until Urban spoke up and said that Iowa was the better team. I hated Urban for so many years, but I really like him on TV. He cuts through the bullshit and obviously has a lot of respect for Iowa.

normally I would agree but they were losing field position with the half so kicking was more justifiable

They put this up for every Minnesota FG or PAT attempt

And for reference Minnesota has been doing this all year

Minnesota shows this dramatic gopher thing on the boards when opponents kick fgs at TCF which I think is hilarious.

iowa decided to do dramatic hawk which shows the hawk from the gold out photo shoot and then they zoom into the eyes. I thought it was awesome, plus it just looks cool regardless so I hope they keep doing it.

The shitters amaze me more. Are those people hiding it from their families? Do they drink while pooping? So many questions.

I really hope they open up the competition again as Merriweather and others are going to be better than him, but the shitty thing is Koerner might be entrenched there for another 2 years.
Koerner has been better than Merriweather as soon as the change was made early this year. I hope Merriweather gets better but he was lost as fuck when he played.
Koerner was lost and overmatched yesterday. They have to at least explore if they have a better option next year.

Even if he does stay, that is likely ok as long as Doyle isn't the starter. If not, that is a couple of glaring holes in the defense. Hoping that Jestin Jacobs is the real deal and can play next year.
Has anyone read or heard much about Craddieth? He was a big time recruit

I agree with you regarding Urban, and I’m not saying any of the other guys on that set look at these numbers but shit like this is why people say stupid shit...

I mean yeah, Minnesota racked up a bunch of yards. But Kirk even said on the radio after the game that they knew they would give up chunk plays because Minnesota has good players, they just needed to eliminate the big plays, stop the run, hold them to field goals and force them to use clock which Iowa did.

The coaches coach to time and score. Not to what their YPP is.

I remember hear last year that the game was “moving a little fast for him.” I didn’t think I’d miss Gervase but here we are.

Basically when anyone asks about him the coaches say he’s working hard. Media guys say the same thing which makes me think he’s not anywhere close at the moment. I mean, he’s not even on special teams.

Im guessing if that’s the case then free safety is not an option for him.
