As a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes with a sense of history, I feel like we already have.

Which is why I FULLY REJECT NEPOTISM IN ALL ITS FORMS!!!
Yes let’s make up our mind before actually watching him play.

Even if this little fucker turns out to be the second coming of Steve Nash, I’d prefer he did it at a program where his dad wasn’t the HC.
Of course. You’ve always been incredibly jealous of Nash’s hair.

I am with The Dad. He had better not be getting a lot of minutes. I was forced to watch Pat not guard or rebound way too much. I also watched Deacon Hill and Spencer Petras quarterback our offense.

Words have meaning, DAD.

What if Peyton McCollum played like Sam Hoiberg?
sam hoiberg sucked.

And it’s not always about how good a player is. It’s about whether or not there was someone better that could’ve been playing.

I don’t think thatvplaying a d3 player in the guard rotation on a team that desperately needs guards is a crazy concern.

Since we are having this conversation, here is my super interesting thoughts....

- It was just an exhibition
- With that said, the comments after on why Thompson and Harris didn't play were shocking
- Playing his freshman son and tarded Joey more minutes than two highly sought after 4* players is alarming given the comments
- If Thompson has been in his program over a year and Harris has been for months and both are highly rated 4* players then that's a troubling sign that A) McCollum missed on his evaluation or B) McCollum has done a really shitty job coaching and motivating his players.
- Same but lesser thing with Cam ManYOWWWW. If you have to bench your 4th year multi-year starter and then call him out in the media to motivate him to be a leader after this long, another yikes on your ability as a coach and staff so far.
- If for whatever reason you did mis-evaluate Thompson and Harris so badly that you're playing the equivalent of 2 walk-on level players including a nepo-baby son, then you might have just as well brought back Tavion Banks.

I hope this is all just early season exhibition game nonsense, but if McCollum thinks he's going to be a top level Big Ten team and get back to the Elite 8 or better and is planning on doing it with his nepo-baby and Joey the Tard, then he spent all offseason sniffing his own farts and press clippings.

I’m struggling to think of anything that could hurt team motivation or effort coming off such a successful previous season.

oh wait, I thought of something.

This is going to be a miserable season.
Yep, already hit about the highest high that a program like Iowa can hit right off the bat, so naturally it's likely going to be a lesser season to begin with.

Now throw in (likely) missing on the 5* PG you have been chasing and then watching the 4* players you have recruited sit and rot on the bench while Super Joey and NepoBaby King run around taking minutes and the odds are it's not going to be a very enjoyable season.
