Peyton won't play much in the I am a giant douche unless the other point guards have foul trouble, or Ben wants to make a point about effort and defense. If by his 3rd or 4th year he works himself into a Little Hoiberg type contribution, I would be pleased.

Connor peaked early and was ranked as high as #25 in his class when he was HS. Other kids caught up, but he still ended up as a consensus four-star recruit. He also became a pretty good college player once he quit baseball. His shooting was never great, but he took a huge jump once he had to stop splitting his time between sports.

Peyton as much closer to John The Criminal, although not that bad. His high school accolades look decent, but when they moved his dad made sure he was surrounded by two big ten players and two very good D2 players. Sound familiar?
Not really, Connor was below average at best and hurt the program in general. He averaged 30 minutes a game his last season and averaged 6 points a game. Don't understand why people want to claim Connor had value.

To me the team at the time functioned better with Connor in the game. I can't find a plus minus stat for his career. I also recall his assist to turnover ratio being quite good. There were times when I swear he was the only guy on the team capable of feeding the post. Which says something about the coaching.

I'm not saying he was great. But I think he was a B10 basketball player. Starter on many teams. First or second off the bench on most of the rest.

Patrick was soft and deserves the ridicule he gets.

That’s overstating things a bit and not giving any value whatsoever to the things that don’t show up on a stat sheet.

He’s a tremendous douche don’t get me wrong but he definitely had a high BB IQ. He just had a lot of his dad’s bad qualities that inform our opinion of him.

I do not like BBQ, mainly because the sound of so many people licking their fingers disgusts me.

I liked Connor during his last year. Before that, not really. But he was a super smart, gritty guy and the team was better with him in there.

I still can’t believe Fran never taught his two kids anything close to proper shooting form.

Fran couldn’t shoot. He was 51% on free throws. 65/127.
Connor was 76% overall and 88% his final year.

His assist to TO ratio was good because he could never take anyone off the dribble or play with any pace. He played very cautiously. He was good at the post entry passes though

This can't be stressed enough. He was either really good at it or every other player on those teams was unbelievably bad at it, not sure which. But Connor was, as all the kids say, LITERALLY the only player on the team who could feed the post

Connor was a bit of a throwback, clearly didn’t care as much about shooting and ball handling technical skills and footwork, but used his size to protect the ball. Always looked for an easy post bucket first rather than chucking 3’s. Having Luka obviously helped his numbers.

what’s crazy is that despite his size advantage over most guards he had zero post scoring moves. Only passing.

Enough about the stupid McCaffreys sucking up the basketball thread. Has anyone received their season tickets yet? I thought I had them last year by this time.

Connor was a plus defender but I know nobody cares about that

25-45 from the free throw line after 2 games. 55.5%. At home against shit teams with zero pressure.

That right there is going to cost them multiple games unless they fix that quickly.

They did have this issue early in the year last year and mostly fixed it.

I agree it is annoying though

Add that exhibition game and they are 47-79 from the free throw line and 59.4%. That would be on track to be the worst free throw shooting teams in the history of college basketball. Pretty big sample size as well to not be a fluke.

Davison was the worst free throw shooting team in the 25-26 season and they shot 63.9% for example, so already well under that horrible mark.

I’m somewhat concerned but not panicking yet. Coleman is going to be better and he’s missed the most so far. Some of it is who has shot them so far as well. Nobody is over performing from last year and many are underperforming.
