Leave it to Iowa to find the 1 white D1 athlete to come out of Waterloo since Kent McCausland.

There's a few kids at IC West with offers - Manson's kid and Whitters in 26 class and Woods in 25 class. Hodge's kid is a 27 but doesn't have an offer yet. Barnett's kid in 28.

I think we have a good shot with the valley kid and he’s going to be special.

I won’t get excited until I see Chip’s review of Herrera’s highlight reel.

None of his other offers indicate I should have any level of hope that he'll pan out. That being said, it's not senile KOK or Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz choosing QBs anymore

Looks like $47,000/year private school. I get the sense he’s not playing against the better teams in California.

Haha! There isn't much of one this year. They include 1-3 rather pedestrian plays a game. His team must not be very good, for one thing. I was too lazy to look at the sophomore highlights, where he did have much better stats. I guess it's a Trust Lester thing for the moment.

I wonder if they've changed their approach from wasting time offering the Will Levis-Drew Allar types before having to settle for down-the-list guys like Labas and the Oklahoma guy. Are they now looking for the less heralded guy who they have a good shot with, but are better than the guys they were having to take? Maybe that was the thinking with Resar (apparent failure) and Jimmy Sullivan (seems like a good get). Maybe Marco, too, for that matter. (He had started off as a 4-star, but his stock dropped after the camp season after his junior year.)

The oddest one in there was Hogan. The apparent first choice 4-star who wasn't. That one just looks like a plain old bad eval, maybe especially a bad assessment of what he had between the ears. Maybe they already knew Dekkers had the gambling bug and just gave him to ISU.
