unless you have mad money, those two issues are intertwined.

you pay the seven foot kid two mil and he comes in and he's just ok. So now your other starters all want two mil or more. Maybe your backup 5 who plays as many minutes as the starter wonders why he's not getting paid.

a program like Iowa just can't throw the checkbook around. McCollum needs to get the right fit at the right price.
