Iowa had one of the best red zone efficiency in the country last season, mostly due to Gron. Im seeing a lot more field goals attempted this season

The alternative is he picks one to start the first game and then doesn't make a change until that individual thoroughly underwhelms, and he switches to a new starter, with no game reps, when we start conference play. Given the schedule, that would be less than ideal. Let's see who does what when the bullets are flying.

A couple of unrelated thoughts:

1. Didn't Indiana already bring back a couple of expired eligibility DL under the court ruling? Hopefully, the new Big Ten rule fucks them.

2. At QB, our best hope has to be that Hecklinski is given the chance and proves that he is, in fact, a gamer in the Chuck Hartlieb mold. Hank Brown's ceiling is unacceptably low, as demonstrated at both Auburn and against Indiana last year. He lacks the ballsy confidence that the good ones always have.

I watched the BTN show, them noting Hawthorne making plays against the OL and mentioning Kennedy at DT made me feel a little better about the DT position.

If they can avoid a big drop off at DT, the defense can remain salty and QB deficiency won't be as big of a problem for the win total.

IIRC, it was totally a KCRG production…UI athletic department had nothing to do with it.
