Unfortunately I think no now. I understand the "being recruited over" concept at UK and it's entirely possible, but I think he (and anyone else in that spot) has enough confidence in his game to feel like he can beat out anyone else who would be brought in at PG.

I hope like hell I'm wrong though.

Agreed. If he goes to UK he is going to be sweating every year to see what 5* one and done PG is being recruited to take his spot.

I think that UK is the wrong choice for him, but the one that he will make.

i would guess there's a 30% chance of ulis to iowa. so if you go with the odds, i guess that's a no.

but i tend to be a pessimist. and i also tend to mentally gear up for a disappointment, so it doesnt hit you so hard when it happens.

still, i truly believe that iowa is the best place for ulis. i know we say that about all recruits, but in this case i think it happens to be true. and i'm hoping he sees that.

plus, dougie's got me all psyched out with his optimism. and the UK and MSU offers to other PG's can only help fran make his case.

so i'm sticking with my yes vote.

In regards to playing time, I don't think Ulis' talent will matter if he goes to UK. He'll constantly be getting recruited over and leapfrogged on the roster.

You just don't recruit a 5* one and done player and sit him. Doesn't matter who your upperclassmen are at UK, if you start them over 5* kid then you can go ahead and kiss the rest of the one and done's goodbye.

I'm both superstitious and reverse-superstitious when it comes to Hawkeye basketball. As a result, I can't vote without jinxing Iowa's chances.

I think he is coming here. When he and his father talk they have constantly mentioned the family type atmosphere at Iowa and how great a guy Fran is. When they talk about other schools it's just about basketball, very little about relationships.
