1. That game was winnable, in spite of the OL and play calling issues, if we trot out a QB who isn't a goddamn idiot that can't make two reads in less than five seconds.

2. I will assume the stranger in the black polo who came up to me and yelled "NEPOTISM SUCKS" outside the NEZ as the crowd was leaving was one of us; appearances and opinions indicated a gentleman and scholar of the highest order.

To that end, the final score seems like it was a close-ish ballgame but watching it, one never felt Iowa had a chance. The offense is just so so shitty.

As much as Spencer sucks, today sealed it for me as far as it goes with Brian. A fucking 4th grader playing Madden would know that when you are down 20-0 in the 3rd quarter with 7 min to go, you have to fucking hurry the fuck up.

It's the year 2022, and Iowa is huddling up every single play. I'll never forget that 7 minute drive that essentially lost the game for them in so many ways.

Look at the play by play of that 13 play, 7 minute drive that started with 12:20 left in the 4th quarter down 20-7.

Iowa completes a pass to Rigitoni at the 26 yard line with 9 minutes left. There is an injury and the clock stopped. Instead of taking that injury timeout to figure out a play and be ready to snap the ball, Iowa huddles up and blows more time.

From there they ran 7 more plays and burned the clock from 9 minutes down to 5:35 while never taking a single shot at the end zone.

Fire Brian for that alone.

Shit, even worse they had 2nd and 3 at the 19 yard line with 8:40 left! Burned 3 more minutes off to run a 1 yard route and get called for an OPI.

The annoying thing is that he isn't wrong. They got some deep shots to hit, pass protection was sort of improved, we had some WRs actually fucking catch the ball for once.

But Petras still is making the same mistakes he's made his entire career. Can't read the D, can't step up to avoid a pass rush, can't throw on target, still insists on gunning shit into windows.

Kirk will just keep on believing that the positives mean we need to stay the course at QB, though, even though it's obvious to the whole fucking world that Petras will never not be garbage.

Padilla or Labas or literally anyone with a modicum of skill could have gotten a W today. Instead, that.
