I know we were discussing Gesell in chat the other night. Stole this link from the OS about their game with SC Heelan. There's a few SC guys over there that follow area bball closely. Article also mentions Alex Malloy and Wes Staten from Heelan (not sure either are Fran recruiting targets).

The sad fact is I doubt Fran can beat out the traditional basketball powers of Nebrantska, UNI, Drake, and Creighton for this kid.

I bet that the kid is "hard-nosed" though, and plays "with a lot of toughness."

Hell, it sounds like the kid is the next Steve Nash. If we get him, I'm sure he will go pro after his Freshman year.

No one knows if MG can play the point in college as he has played it so rarely. One thing I am positive he can do, however, is guard the point in college. He is a tremendous defensive player, and has the ability to guard guys 2-3 inches taller than him as well, so he can guard some 2s and 3s as well.

I can't think of many players who have succeeded in the Big Ten at the PG position having played it as rarely as MG has up to this point. And while that doesn't mean he can't do it, there are some valid concerns as to his ability to do so.

he sounds like pierre pierce.

one thing to consider is that he will two years to play with Cully and someone else as the main PG's.
