Interview with Derrell Johnson Koulianos

[nolookpass]

http://nflmocks.com/2011/02/10/interview-with-iowa-wr-derrell-johnson-koulianos/#more-7934

he also did an interview with Rob Howe which should be up on Howes site soon.

[Herky823]

Saw that today. I think he said what he needed to say, regardless of whether or not was all true.

That being said, lol at the "book he'll be writing soon."

[MikeyJoe]

He comes off pretty well there. Two other thoughts:

For a long time, I wanted to be the guy who was volunteering, paying for drinks at the bar

lmao

Johnson-Koulianos is much more highly rated by NFL Mocks than many other sites. A lot of that is due to the fact that I have been able to see him play over the last four years, and have seen every single game he has been part of, and I know that he can and will have a huge impact at the next level. ...

DJK was snubbed by the NFL Scouting Combine, and they apparently had told him that even before the legal issues he was not going to receive an invitation to the prestigious underwear olympics, but we all know that’s not how it is.

Who is "sayrebedinger"? That stuff sounds like it was written by his best friend.

I am a staff writer for the Denver Broncos blog site Mile High Report, which is the most read NFL blog on the web. If I'm not posting here, there's a good chance I'm over there, so feel free to check it out.

I have been writing for Bleacher Report for two years now, and while I mostly write about the Denver Broncos, I've also written for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, and every now and again the Minnesota Vikings. My main areas of contribution are the Broncso, Hawkeys, and the NFL Draft.

hawkeyenerd?

I laughed at that too, but I think he's just saying he was trying to be everything for everyone (he also talked about watching film every night right after that).

I only laughed because DJK isn't exactly known for paying for drinks.

[L. Wade Childress]

too bad i am banned from howe's site for pointing out errors in his "work".

[Herky823]

do any football players pay for drinks?

Probably not many, but I've only run into a few downtown and he happens to be one of them.

[MikeyJoe]

do any football players pay for drinks?

Doubtful.

That wasn't an interview, it was a love letter by a starstruck fan.

yeah, it wasnt any of the hard hitting, in your face journalism like we see from the Iowa press towards Kirk at his press conferences.

[Jimmie Dimmick]

do any football players state in the media that they want to be that guy?

[douglasbader]

Kirk: Um...I suppose. Sure.

Kakert: Yah, that was awesome.

This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the picture.

[herky187]

I just saw a RUN DJK shirt on sale for $5 at Sheels.

[nolookpass]

Derrell is in IC today. Will be interesting to see the fans reaction to him at the hoops game.

Was this interview conducted by NLP's son under NLP's direction?

I think that's De' Andre he is shaking hands with.

He looks like the kid who graduated from High School last year, goes away to college and comes back to the first home football or basketball game dressed all differently, swag or mature.

Good DJK interview on the 2 star podcast this week. He was very remorseful about his time at Iowa and seems to have really grown up. Wasn't a fan of his antics while at Iowa but nice to see he's matured as a person.

Let's start with Bob Sanders and go down the line...

[Geese]

DJK was a helluva player and a giant douche. He'd fit in great in the B..1..G..

By what metric was Bob Sanders better than DJK?

[Gushawk]

I sorta wonder if the Derrick Willies situation might have been handled differently had there been no DJK

that well known metric that compares safeties to wide receivers from different eras

It was a good listen. Hope for the best for him
