Either way he's going to be really good.

Not going to win games on the road when you shoot 38%, get outrebounded by 16 and the other team goes 30-33 from the line. I like what I saw from the offense, though. Notre Dame wasn't going to let Jok get clean looks so it was up to the other guys to run the offense and step up. I imagine we will see a lot of that this season.

Pemsl has serious 'old man game'. It's pretty awesome. He barely jumps but somehow manages to get clean looks. He's also about 4' wide.

That could've been much, much worse, with Pete unable to contribute and no Cook. I'm encouraged that we may be competitive more often than not. A year or two from now, maybe pretty tough.

Honestly the best subtle thing from this game might have bene Moss as a starter with a good floor game and not chucking. He seems to be buying in as defender being his angle to get major minutes this year. 5 assists, 0 turnovers. A few rebounds, a block. We know he's a streaky shooter so far, so a controlled 5 points is a definite positive honestly.

According to the +/- Ellingson was - 25 and Moss was +2. I reall really hope Moss gets the opportunity to earn the majority of the minutes by the end of the year.

I know someone said it earlier but cook being out isn't necessarily a terrible thing early in the season. It gets other guys involved but it also allows Cook to observe a lot of different things as well. He'll learn a lot over the next few weeks and be better because of it. Especially defensively. (Hopefully)

Guys that big and athletic have never had to block out, ever.

I need to eat crow on bohannon. You cant have him and Ellingson in at the same time right now cause neither can guard well.

According to Kakert Jok first injured his shoulder at an nba event. Hope it doesn't nag him all year. His shot did look different and he did aggravate it when he got tackled the other night.

Is this the type of injury that's going to progressively get worse during the season?

on a few occasions our guys did try to block out but they were in bad position, under the basket.

a shoulder impingment is a nagging injury. usually gets better with rest and rehab. it must not be real bad, cause when I had mine I couldn't lift my hand above my shoulder w/o a lot of pain.

I honestly didn't notice anything different with the shot. I thought it was just the defense since I can't remember more than 1 or 2 really open looks. But that hasn't mattered too much so far this year either as he's been making defenders look silly.

I'll keep an eye on it next game. I just want to see if I can see the difference.

obviously his shoulder didn't affect his lackluster defense. He did rebound well.

I thought his release looked lower on most of his shots.

It didn't look like the same pure release where it looks like it's going in the second it leaves his hand, but that could be because none of them went in after they left his hand.

He also needs to look to dish or pull up when he drives unless he has a wide open lane. He needs both feet under him when he jumps or he looks like this:

ND has to lead the nation in the number of white guys you have an irresistible urge to punch in the face.

That Geben dude had to foul out every game, right? He's literally a foul per minute guy as the refs could have called ten fouls in him. What a fucking hack that guy is.

bohannon forced it at times but it's nice to have a PG that isn't afraid to shoot and force the defense to stay honest. With Mike, the defense could play off of him and make it harder to dump it into the post.

It'd be great if Moss sticks with the program and develops a more consistent offensive game. He played really smart last night.

I think the Moss transfer speculation is going to cool. He's starting as a redshirt frosh. He'll stay.

If Moss and/or Dailey show they can hit 3pt shots, Brady better fill out his application to UW-Green Bay.

I couldn't believe early in the game when he forced up a long 3 early in the clock and missed but still had the balls to come down the next trip and bury a deep one.

Because he was a white point guard, people always seemed to assume that Mike was a shooter.

It's been said a bunch of times, but even though he'll never be as athletic as Gesell, bohannon seems to have much better point guard instincts. He feeds the post a lot better, and if he's an outside threat the defense has to respect that will help the post game a ton.

I do think they'll be worse than I thought this year though. I had hoped that they could make a push for the NIT, but this team seems like it will struggle to get to 500.

The defensive drop off from last year has been severe.

Was Fran saying "horrible shot" after that?
