IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today that men’s basketball season tickets for the 2007-08 campaign, the first for new Coach Todd The Criminal, are now on sale.

Fans can purchase their tickets in person at the UI Athletic Ticket Office, over the telephone (1-800-IA-HAWKS) and online at hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Season ticket prices (per game) remain the same as last year. A reserved general public season ticket is $336, UI faculty is $272 and UI student tickets are $95. The Hawkeye men have 19 home contests this season, including nine Big Ten conference games. Iowa opens the season Nov. 1, against Simpson.

Single game tickets are $20 for all games except Big Ten weekend games, Wisconsin, Drake and the ACC Challenge (Wake Forest). Single game tickets for the Big Ten weekend games, Wisconsin, Drake and Wake Forest are $25. There is a youth ticket ($10) for all games under the $20 single game price. A youth ticket is good for those high school ages and below.

There is also a Big Ten weekend package, which includes the four weekend Big Ten games (Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State and Illinois) for $100. Single game tickets go on sale for non-conference games and the Big Ten weekend package on Oct. 16th. All other Big Ten conference single game tickets go on sale Dec. 4th.

Fans interested in group sales can call the UI Sports Marketing Office at (319) 335-9431.

These prices seem fairly reasonable to me - at least they didn't jack up the prices.

I might just have to get a Big Ten Weekend Package and take my kids.

The Big Ten Weekend package looks like a winner from my vantage point.
