I used to play in pickup games at a gym by my office and Tamika Catchings and her twin sister were regulars. Tamika is a HOFer and 6' 1". The talent at this gym was truly awful. Most of the dudes were in their 30s and 40s and I'd guess most never even played HS hoops. Anyway, Tamika could hang but it wasn't like she dominated. Frodes is right. Only way you could narrow the gap would be if you took some small guard from a tiny college and matched him against Candace Parker or Lisa Leslie where there was a big height advantage.

This is a great example of how people are terrible at relatively judging things that can't be compared directly, on multiple levels.

Like yes, Austin Ash sucks, but Austin Ash sucks as a walk on compared to scholarship D1 players. He's 6'3" and at least good enough to walk on at a D1 program. If he played pickup ball at your gym he'd almost certainly be one of the best players on the court. And he would dominate women's basketball.

Their coach thought it would be fun to enter them in the boys division of a tournament at the end of last season. They played the team my son is on and lost by 40. The top prospect in the country was held to 6 points and had her shot blocked about a dozen times. She basically gave up out of frustration.
