First 18 minutes was just about perfect. Then they figured out how to exploit the defense and we had to go against a set defense every trip and struggled. Lot of forced shots, many that they hit first half didn't fall. It's a good thing for the team that they went through that on the road and even better that they came out with a win.

I have no idea what we're going to do against physical teams with size but it's a fun team.

Space them and go 5 out.

I agree with you on the first part, they both play team ball and that statement he made was absurd.

The second part I disagree. Connor is so bad at this point on offense that it is playing 4 on 5 with him on the court. He doesn't rebound well, he doesn't defend well. He wants to slow down instead of pushing way too often.

He's just a bad fit overall on this particular team outside of select situations.

Kris has a lot of the good stuff that Keegan has but isn't always sure how to use it or what he wants to do. Just gonna take him some time but he'll have some big games along the way. Keegan will eventually realize he has to be the guy late in the clock to make something happen or draw enough attention for someone else. Twice tonight he had it on the perimeter with 5 on the shot clock and gave it up to Connor and then Perkins (I think?) where they had to force up a shot late.

If he didn't have that realized tonight by 9:30 then our coaches need fired.

So we're not going to post up Keegan, Rebraca or Kris? It's also not the only thing he can do. He's strong with the ball, loads up shooters in the right spot coming off screens and makes good decisions. He's not a scorer but he's still a guy with value off the bench and saying he doesn't play team ball or kills the offense is off base to me. He played 13 minutes tonight. 3 boards, 2 assists, 0 turnovers, missed 1 shot. Big offensive board and dish for a bucket. He is what he is but he'll help settle things when needed.

Agreed. He would be fine getting about 8 minutes per game in situations like you describle, but getting 17-20 minutes per game is dumb.

That was a hell of a win. Several guys stepping up in a tough, road environment. These guys have some big fucking balls-Joe T, Jbo, Murrays, even Flip. So damn impressive hitting big shots after pissing away the big lead.

I think Virginia is going to be pretty good and this win will look even better at the end of the year.

If means turns the ball over less, making good post feeds, playing the tempo coach wants them to play, ensuring they get a good shot.

The best team for Iowa includes Keegan / Kris / Rebecca on the floor. I would mix them with one of the PG's and bohannon if he is rolling, but if not Perkins or Sandfort.

Connor is a good passer. We have superior options in respect of every other facet of the game, including but not limited to: defense, shooting, ball handling, rebounding, shot blocks.
