I've had this conversation with a work buddy who is an official. He's officiated in college and has friends that are D1 refs. He defends officials to no end. Argues that all these defenders are in good position so they get away with it. So I show videos of bohannon getting shoved against MSU or hand-checked and grabbed in the last 4 games. He then comes back to this and says they need to play it up to get the calls. I think that is such bullshit. Call the fucking game, enforce the fucking rules. From talking to him and other official buddies of his, it is all just a game of how to get the calls and Iowa is really shitty at it when playing these uber aggressive teams.

He is right. Basketball has been this way for 40 years. If you don't sell the foul, most aren't going to be called. Shit, do you think they are going to call fouls every fucking possession, on both ends? If they are going to simply call the game, the game would take 5 hours.
Players would adjust and stop fouling.
If they kept getting called for shit they'd stop doing it. I assume anyways.
It's the same as holding in football. The blatant stuff gets called.
