Is Ed Podolak the most underappreciated icon in Iowa football history? The answer is yes — at least when it comes to having his name etched into a place of permanence. Podolak was not included among the nine former players displayed on the Kinnick Stadium Wall of Honor, which was unveiled last year, nor has […]

There are consequences when you embarrass yourself repeatedly because you are a drunk.

Who has he really embarrassed? LOL @ the idea of radio broadcasters being the face of the university.

He was a helluva player back in the day too. He's also in the KC Chiefs Hall of Fame

My vote is for Matt Rodgers, and it's not especially close. Two-time first team all Big Ten, Big Ten offensive player of the year, Rose Bowl and Big Ten championship his junior year, and 10-1-1 and a top-10 finish his senior year. He should be part of the pantheon and he's stuck in Nathan Chandler territory. Criminal.

He had a magical year as a RB in '68 and, while he was a great competitor at QB on bad teams, he was still a career 43% passer who had 8 TDs and 28 ints. And Denny Green would have put up great numbers in that offense (5.8 ypc and 16.4 yards per catch prior to injury) as did William Powell when he was in (6.6 ypc).

Who are the nine?

I asked my old man about those years and he said some of those teams had some talented guys (especially on offense) but weren't worth a shit defensively.

Sorry, you can be an epic fucking drunk and get away with it, but not when you pass out on a bench in Pentacrest and get arrested or get photographed drunk as fuck hanging all over some girl grabbing her tits. Not to mention being hammered and then getting run over by a car in Arizona.

I'm not saying I give a shit, but you can bet a school with a stick up their ass like the University of Iowa might frown upon it.
