Northern Iowa's Brannon Carter expects more surprises to come in a football season that has been full of them.

The linebacker just hopes one isn't sprung Saturday, when the Panthers, ranked No. 4 in the Sports Network Football Championship Subdivision poll, travel to Drake.

"They're going to be out to beat us," said Carter, who made a key interception in the Panthers' 24-13 win at Iowa State on Sept. 8. "I know it's going to be a game. It's going to be a good game."

It would be easy to dismiss the Bulldogs' stunning 27-24 win over Illinois State in the season opener as a fluke, but the Panthers refuse to downplay the significance of Drake's first win in 10 tries against Gateway Conference opposition.......
