Boston College is a mess right now and would be an even bigger rebuilding project than Iowa was. I can't see him, at his age and with his family situation right now, wanting to move 4 kids and start all over again.

I wouldn't doubt that Boston College called and Fran might even be the perfect person for that job and the play in the ACC fits his style more than the Big Ten, but it would be a bad time to move for every reason.

When he came to Iowa, I think Fran's oldest kid was 11 years old. Now he has an almost 16 year old who will be a Sophomore on one of the best teams in the midwest coming off a State Championship. He has another one who is 14 and about to enter High School that was just diagnosed with cancer. His kids are at the point where they have been here almost 5 years and have made friends and gotten comfortable.

That would be really hard to uproot them all from Iowa and take them out East to live right in or near Boston.

Duke, UNC, Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt. Then you've got Virginia, Notre Dame, NC State, Buzz at Va Tech, along with Clemson, FSU, an undead Wake, Georgia Tech and Miami. In a town where no one cares about you with no support.

The Big Ten is better overall right now but you're not going to crack that top tier and almost everyone in the middle or bottom has better support, facilities or recent history than you do.
