JFC. I'm starting to think there's nothing Delaney won't do to obliterate the identity of the conference and the things that have historically interested its fans in the name of enhancing revenue. Obviously he can't do it alone, but thus far member institutions have followed along in lock step. It's already put a dent in my interest in the schedule, and while I'd like to believe that at some point a lot of fans would say "enough is enough," I have my doubts. I suppose the rationale for this would be that either we do everything we can to grow revenues or the conference literally can't survive, but was the financial outlook for the conference in its pre-Rutgers/Maryland incarnation really that dire?

I agree that DC is a more exciting place to visit, and I don't know anything about the area around DC's stadium, but Indy's downtown is pretty much perfectly setup to host a tournament of 14 teams.

Indy does a hell of a job with the tournament.

I take USAir (now AA) direct to Reagan every other month. That flight is pretty cheap and quick.

On second thought, I think you guys are right about DC being okay for the tournament. I got r-t tickets to DC for about $220 last summer. Do you think event tickets will sell as well as in a Big Ten state, or is the Big Ten indifferent about ticket sales--like the NCAA in the opening rounds of its tournament?
