Hi coach.

Iowa’s offense is last in the country in many if not most statistical measures, and you believe that a change at QB would not enhance Iowa’s chances to win football games. In other words, you do not believe that any other QB on Iowa’s roster could lead this offense to better than DFL.

What does that say about Iowa’s talent evaluation and player development at the QB position?

Hi coach.

How do you think that the continuing offensive struggles, and relatively few passes targeting WRs, have in the past and will in the future impact Iowa’s ability to recruit high level players at WR?

I like your posed questions, but I think they need to be enhanced reminding Brian just how awful his offense and QB choice has been

Old Tom on the other site mentioned it being a bye week so the coordinators are available for questioning

I could see circumstances forcing changes in the program - frustrated coaches leaving, frustrated players leaving, heat from donors, heat from the fanbase, etc. It's too bad Kirk is so slow to adapt. He's always been too slow to make changes and typically doesn't until things go bad. This time it's going to bite him in the ass in a big way.

And please include empirical data and statistics and be ready to rebut any and all of his stupid, snarky retorts. Wanna be a prick, ok, let’s go.

I’d like to hear him justify his refusal to adapt to the obvious changes in the game (NIL, transfer portal, zone blocking and in-game changes in the sport). Being upset at the way the game is changing is understandable and predictable; yet, to refuse to adapt or reinvent yourself and use some creativity to give you an advantage is coaching malpractice and is going to further deteriorate the program and erode fan support - while making it impossible to compete due to the recruiting fallout.

When NFL people are comparing a Thursday night game to Iowa football - negatively - then you might want to take heed.

Or not, I’m just a fan.

May have bought tickets to meet up with friends in Columbus back in June. At least expectations aren’t even existent now going in.

Same here. The reception from the Buckeye fans is going to be warm and welcoming. I'm quite sure they feel sorry for us.

But Brian's raise next year will be less than any other assistant coach.

As someone that has watched every minute of OSU games, I can tell you all, Iowa is not going to get beat as bad as you think. Actually, if Kirk did roll out Padilla in an act to be funny, it would backfire and Iowa would win.
Iowa's defense is going to give them a chance, a good enough chance that Padilla can win.

Call me crazy, but I think we will get Padilla as the starter vs. OSU.

The heat is high, there is two weeks to prep, and a QB switch is a far easier decision than an OC ouster.

I haven’t been watching any of the pre game hype videos. Are they just showing touchdowns from last year?

I’m not going to lie, the fantastical, sports-comedy movie scenario of Kirk putting in another QB to get embarrassed against OSU to prove a point and accidentally winning the game would be absolutely fucking hilarious.
