No, you do it by having a couple of big dick swinging DC and ST coaches on staff.

The stupid part is in choosing to keep meddling in the offense and holding the program back from being what it could have become. Kirk was great, brought us from the final years of the Hayden-era and built a developmental program with occasional bouts of awesome. Then he reverts back to an über conservative offensive philosophy, a disregard towards adapting to how college rules have changed, and an inability to grasp revolutionary changes such as NIL and transfer rules.

Instead of taking that step in front of Wisconsin and locking down the division, we sat back and watched Northwestern appear in more BIG CCG as we did this decade. That wasn’t because of our D or ST.

But the most sacrosanct thing of all, is that he continues to trot out the worst QB any of us have ever watched play football while rubbing our nose in his condescending and passive-aggressive arrogance.

Throw the Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz stuff on there and bam, stupid.

Playcaller & decider of who runs said plays for the CFB offense that is firmly cemented in the cellar of all the stats that matter, and you ask "What's the upside?" to changing QB1 with a tested & proven player.

What you’re doing isn’t working. That’s why we’re having this conversation. If it was working, we wouldn’t be talking right now. You would just be doing your job well, and I would have more time to waste on the internet.

When asked what he was going to do to fix the situation he started listing things he should already be doing. Weren‘t you already doing these things? What’s going to be different moving forward? How do you think your performance should be measured? What do you think should happen if you don’t improve by the standards you just laid out?

You have to nail squirmy, dumb fuckers like this to the wall.

I’ll admit I feel for Brian when he starts talking about his love for Iowa. I don’t doubt him at all. But I care more about the program than I do Brian. And that’s the way it should be for everyone involved.

But I can think of one person who definitely cares more about Brian than the program. Spoiler, it’s Father of Brian Ferenz, Kirk Ferentz.

I was talking with the parent of one of the kids that Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz kids go to school with and apparently Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz is tanking the season on purpose bc he thinks if things go bad enough the courts will throw out the racism charges against Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz

Three weeks later, after sizable losses to Illinois and Ohio State, Ferentz decided the defense needed a lift. The Hawkeyes were set to face Wisconsin, which had butchered Iowa the previous year, and the team needed to make a statement. It needed (Bob) Sanders.

“I think it’s probably about the only time in 20-plus years where I made a mandate or suggestion that, ‘Hey, let’s get him in the lineup just to see what happens,'” Ferentz said. “I mean, it couldn’t get worse, right? So, let’s get him in there. Keep him down low in coverage, so he doesn’t blow something deep for us and let’s just see what happens.

“We still gave up 400-plus yards, but we gave up whatever amount of points it was (13), we had a chance to tie it there or go ahead in the fourth quarter, which was a far cry from the year before they just totally slaughtered us. He made our team better.”

Kirk's the same guy he's always been. It just bothers some of us a lot more when Iowa is losing. Padilla did something that pissed him off, so he's never gonna play.

Brian's not going anywhere. Kirk's the guy that created an award "Assistant Coach of the Year" for Doyle immediately after Rhabdo. Some of us didn't mind. Just win, baby.
