If I remember right Petras only played one series and it was clear he was too injured to throw the ball.
He played the first quarter and three series. He came out and Iowa scored on the first series with Padilla.

How could you tell the difference between healthy Spence and injured?

Okay we can fuck off to the moon with “sneaky athletic,” to describe the shitty QB from the 3-9 FCS team
Ok fine. “More athletic than I expected for a gangly 6’5” QB that played NAIA last year, yet ran for 74 yards and escaped the pass rush nicely…and a fuck ton more athletic than anything Iowa will put behind center”.

Better Nostradamus? Since I’m glad you already have scouted the rest of the SEMO schedule and penciled out their W/L total.

Whatever, whether he was hurt or not Petras was broken and we were at the same point as we are now, total hopelessness. 7 points scored against Purdue and then the total disaster against Wisconsin. A change had to be made.

If the SDSU game offensive shitshow continues into the 2nd quarter on Saturday and Petras is still playing Kinnick is going to be unmanageable.

Looking at games Spencer started going back to last year, it's pretty rare that he's led the team down the field for a TD drive which started on our side of the field.

Other than the Maryland and Kent State games, it happened less than once per game.

A bulk of his touchdown drives were turnover or field position gifts with a shortened field from the defense.

Yes and this is why many people felt Iowa couldn’t repeat last years success.

Doc has been somewhat liberated by the national platform. His approach to coverage is quite a bit less fluffing than Leistekow’s.
Well he’s sure as shit not wrong.

Leistikow has been wading into Randy Peterson territory for many seasons now. The difference between him and his predecessor, Rick Brown is quite stark.

"First and foremost, our goal is to win the game and we did. We certainly have some areas we need to work on with the offense, but style points in a victory has never been anything we're concerned with."

Offensive touchdowns by game since the Maryland game last year:

SDSU - 0
Kentucky - 2
Michigan - 0
Nebrantska - 1
Illinois - 1
Minnesota - 3 (Padilla game)
Northwestern - 2 (Padilla game)
Wisconsin - 1
Purdue - 1
Penn St - 2

13 touchdown drives in 10 games, after 7 such drives in the Maryland game alone. That seems bad.

Or he likes the ability to sit down with him and others in the program for hours at a time and is faking it to maintain that, as pathetic as that would be.
The six hour film session is probably reasonably convincing in an offseason. Not enough to cancel out the bad product on the field, but anyone talking about their craft for hours could sound sharp and prepared. The problem here is that the other guys are the same or better at it.
