jts because there is zero threat to throw the ball and they have a basic inside/outside zone scheme with some power. If you can’t keep defense honest with passing and playaction, and you can’t with a stiff like Petras, your offense is fucked.

The issues in the run game are entirely scheme/talent problems on the OL, don't give them any excuses or buy their bullshit about needing balance to run the ball. That's true against a team like Michigan or Ohio State, you shouldn't need balance to run the ball successfully against fucking Nevada.

I’m not saying the line is good. I’m saying that blaming anything offensively on anyone except one of the worst quarterbacks in the nation, someone who is a quarter-dimensional (if that), is a mistake.

When you are as limited at QB as Spencer is your offense is in real trouble. Could a really good offensive line help that? Obviously yes. The recruiting misses, retirements, early leavings, and injuries up front are all well documented. I’m not covering for that. If anything I’m saying each and every human involved with the offense should go find something else to do, especially the most responsible people for the quarterback position. KOK doing that is a good start. Brian and Kirk should be next.

We think he throws good deep balls, but realistically see what, 15 attempts at deep balls from him in a season? It’s been obvious Brian is trying to get him easy throws to get in rhythm, Spencer struggles on those too. If this really is OC vs head coach, son vs father, woof, here be dragons.
