AZ thinks Max still plays for Iowa lol. Maybe he shouldn't start that podcast after all.
Good point. That’s how little I paid attention to him.

Why would anyone WANT a balanced offense?

i mean, if a balanced offense is the best fit for our players and coaches, then great. But it seems like a weird thing to want to see happen.

Can anyone name college coaches who went from ST coordinator straight to head coach?

I can think of a few examples from the NFL (Ditka, John Harbaugh, Joe Judge).

While I don’t think Iowa ties should disqualify someone. I’d hope they bring in a few more outside names. Iowa is a financially strong program with an engaged fan base - it should attract interest.

When Kirk does retire, I’d like to see Levar do some media and articulate his vision. It’s unfair to assume he won’t bring new ideas, but we also really have no evidence for what they would be.

I just want Shawnee to continue his “this won’t happen,” thing, because as long as he does, I’m VERY confident it’s gonna happen.

Are you even watching Hawkeye football games? I remember last year you swore you would never watch an Iowa game with Petras at QB again.

But we do know that he took a good special teams unit and made them great through a fairly unique vision and teaching to execute that vision. As said above I think head coach is a different skill set, but he has earned a lot of good graces from this Hawk Fan.

The traditional mindset seems to be "we want to be good at offense so let's hire an offensive coach" or vice versa, but really what you need is someone to run and lead the program. I don't specifically think playcalling experience is that great of a predictor, especially at the college level.

I’m pretty certain the only reason Spencer’s footwork looks a little better is that the coaching staff is treating him like a Kindergartner that theyre just excited isn’t eating paste.

“ok. You’re going to throw it to Sam. Take the snap. Find Sam. Throw him the ball. Ok? Can you do that for us Spencer?”

It looked simplified, but the line had less trouble with Rutgers than the previous three weeks, which should be a fact that causes all four Rutgers fans to throw themselves into the ocean.
