Timing of the erection of said statue is dependent on the length of time he continues down this stubborn, arrogant and most importantly stupid path being pursued. Drag the program down to the depths, said statue may be 10-15 years in the making.
Wait a minute. Kirk's statue is going to have an erection? That'll raise some eyebrows.

I looked at the 2018 coaching changes thread. It was November 14th, 2018 and only 2 coaches had been fired. Kansas (worst program in the country) and Louisville (Bobby Petrino off the field shit).

It's October 25th and in the Big Ten alone there have been 2 head coaches fired, and if fans had their way Kirk Ferentz and Fats Titsgerald would also be gone. There has also been multiple coordinators fired at schools like Indiana, Rutgers, Nebrantska and others.

That fact alone is fucking insane.

Kirk isn't the one who lost his mind. It's us.
Oh, fuck off with this. Yes, there is a positive epidemic of capricious Iowa fans out there. If there has one thing we have done throughout the years of Ferentz football, it has been to pointlessly demand for the scalp of our head coach. Time and time again these past forty-three years.

We have literally been on board with this guy the whole way, and he has delivered possibly the most average and scandal-prone 24 year tenure in the history of the Power 5 - let's just be real. But the one time, the ONE time, the program has a looming crisis readily apparent three years out (coupled with a generational defense, I might add) everybody zips their fucking lips and doesn't say shit - even though there is a fix as clear and bright as the sun. Then, after that ridiculously predictable serious of events plays itself out (over three fucking years!) to the point where the team is literally broken, somebody finally (finally!) points it out. And what does Kirk Ferentz do? Responds like a petulant baby. It's embarrassing.

And to top it all off, even my pussy-whipped ass is not calling for his head yet. I don't think anyone else on this board is either. That's how much "we" have lost our minds. Mealy-mouthed weirdo.

No, fuck you, dork. People have wanted Kirk fired multiple times throughout his years at Iowa. 2001, 2007, 2012, 2014 and now 2022. The constant throughout his tenure at Iowa is bitching about his contract buyout and wanting him fired.

What the fuck are you talking about? Nobody was "silent and zips their fucking lips and doesn't say shit". Everyone has been screaming it from the start of last season until right now. What have you been watching?

Holy shit what a fucking moron.

“People” probably have. But not many, and not a material amount of Iowa fans. Until this year.

Absolute bullshit. You guys are living in an alternate reality if you think that a huge number of fans both locally and nationally didn't want Kirk gone in 2007 / 2012 / 2014 and now.

Yes, the IowaFan base has totally loved Kirk all the way until this year and have never wanted him gone or fired. They never bitched endlessly about his contract and buyout. National media didn't want him gone in 2007 after the CityBoyz stuff. Didn't want him fired after Rhabdo. Didn't want him gone after 2012 and the Beathard/Rudock thing in 2014. Didn't want him fired in 2020 after Wadley.

None of that ever happened.

Lol.

I don’t remember the 2020 situation but you are correct on those earlier periods.
You don't remember former players suing him and the University of Iowa. You don't remember how he totally spit at black players and his son, Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz didn't call blacks ghetto. Don't remember how Doyle was the biggest racist ever and was fired? Don't remember everyone from Howe to Dochterman to national media and many others saying that not only Kirk but also Brian and Garta needed to be fired?

Really?

Maybe similar to the political silent moderate majority, most Iowa fans have stood by Kirk and not called for his head. When you read the vocal minority online it may skew reality.

There has certainly been bitching over the years, but very few (fans) that actually wanted him gone.

This year seems different than that. Nearly every hardcore defender I personally know wants major change, and are even open to the idea of Kirk hanging it up. As I said before, I'd love for Kirk to have another great redemption story, but it would require real change. I just don't think Kirk is willing to do that at this point in his career. Completely adapting to the modern landscape of college football is a big ask for a guy nearing 70.

The difference between the early years when a small minority of fans wanted him gone and now is that the game has completely changed. From a scheming in-game standpoint to the NIL and transfer portal shit. I know we haven’t had the amount of defections that some other programs have, but we’re certainly not shopping around for talent in the portal in the same way that other teams are. I predict the defections are coming soon. Maybe I’m wrong, but that is the feeling I have.

When you are making sarcastic barbs at reporters and winning, everyone talks about how you’re pwning the media. When you are losing, you come off as an arrogant prick. Let’s face it, the product has been pretty tough to watch for the most part even during the successful seasons lately. Even the huge wins are boring for the most part until late in the game. Like the Penn State game last year. That was the best atmosphere I’ve ever experience at Kinnick and I ended up having a blast, but aside from some key plays, the actual game was boring AF.

I think Kirk is too old to change and I think his arrogant and petty responses scream that he feels his past success gives him carte blanche to do whatever he desires without having to answer to anyone. Maybe I’m retarded or short-sighted, but I want him gone. I don’t think things are getting better with him at the helm. I hope he retires in the off-season and everyone moves on. Get someone like Stoops or Klieman in here to get things rolling again. You can be thankful for what he has done and still want to move on. That’s where I am at.

No one else wants to play on Friday. The douche wants a second game with the new TV deals and can’t find one yet.

tis odd that Kirk holds the QB position to such a different standard than the other positions. In a perfect world, he'd hold the qb coaching position at a similar level.

Having an oline guy coach qbs is like having the PE teacher in charge of the math department.
my football coach was my math teacher.

Unless Diante Vines is something special, Brian absolutely will be gone next year.
