All the more reason for Kirk to stay the course with Spencer. He sees the path.

Kirk and Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz putting the saddle on Spencer to ride him through that gauntlet as we speak.

If Iowa wins tomorrow and Nebrantska upsets Illinois, which I think will happen, Iowa nearly controls their path to a West division title.
That, uh, says a lot about the Big Ten West and highlights why the East division schools cannot wait for 2024.
Even if we assume Illinois loses to Michigan, they would still need another loss. And obviously Iowa winning five straight feels like a stretch.

Kirk’s response to the RPO rules and Cut Block rule is the perfect encapsulation of the problem. Iowa needs to be able to adjust to and take advantage of opportunities like that. Instead they got punished by one, and made zero adjustment to the other. The honest response at cut block really seemed like “this rule doesn’t respect football, it’s wrong as it’s called we’ll keep getting it called.” Iowa can be a great tackling team, AND find advantages in how penalties are called.
If Kirk was a baseball manager in the National League, he'd still be batting his pitcher 9th.

'Nearly' is doing a lot of work there.

Gave you a like. I know jack shit about baseball, including batting orders, but I'm good at picking up on very obvious context clues. It's a skill I have.

Right bc whatever answer he gives is just gonna piss you off. It’s like you’re listening with your arms crossed waiting to get mad.
This just isn't true. If you can't see that his response and then follow up with Dolph is incredibly stubborn and arrogant, then I don't know what to tell you. You are always preaching that coaches and players give non answers and coach speak. This wasn't that and was really dumb on his part considering the situation. That is all I was saying.

Lol. Yes, because THAT is what players who transfer in 2022 give a shit about.

Gus, you will always be my Gustang, but you're a goddamn moron.
I’m not sure whether he intends to transfer or not but with the restrictions the NCAA placed on entering the portal (end of regular season or something like that barring a coaching change), I don’t think him not announcing he is transferring is indicative of anything. There would be no benefit to him announcing now.

Plus, how is he going to steal the playbook of the incoming OC if he decides to say he's transferring now and can't be in the facility and a part of the team.

None of us obviously know if he is transferring or not. Flexing and calling each other retards doesn't make anyone more correct than the other. However, the fact that KF has glazed over the questions of his health over the weeks has been strange. He gives way more detail on other players. It's just strange, that's all.

I didn’t say it wasn’t. But I’m also right. I’ve seen it in person. 🤣

I mean nobody thinks Illinois beats Michigan. Illinois losing to either Sparty or Purdue feels pretty likely.
Obviously Iowa finishing 5-0 feels least likely.

My assumption is that he will transfer and is being extra cautious with his rehab in order to keep a year of eligibility, but he isn't burning any bridges either.
Impossible. It has to be one of the two extremes.

The only game I actually care about now is Nebrantska. I’ll be pissed if that streak ends because it really does get under the skin of their fans.

I don’t think Padilla is significantly better than Petras but he is better especially given the state of the O-line. The hoks best chance to add to the ridonkulus Knebbie streak is if Little Alex is starting by then. Therefore I cheer for an epic Petras meltdown before then, so bad that it finally forces Kurt’s hand.

As long as he stays in his lane I’d be very happy with Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz becoming the offensive line coach again - he was excellent at it. Why do people seem so opposed to having a solid coach at such a critical position? He’s not calling plays or coaching QBs anymore, that’s the current issue.

No one‘s taking the OC job when the former OC and Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz, is still around.

I worked somewhere where the COO stepped down to become an attorney with the same org. Guess who was still trying to run the place a year later.

Thanks for your input Brian, I'll let you know when I'm interested in doing something worse on offense....the blocking sleds are over there.

Well Illinois got the win so now it seems Iowa’s only way to a West title is for the Illini to drop 3 straight to Sparty/Purdue/Michigan. Certainly seems possible, but not likely.

If they get the win next week at Purdue and the offense looks decent finally, could see them winning out. If they lose or offense is shit like always, then it will be 6 or 7.
