We saw the tremendous ceiling for Petras. Padilla sucked but at least potentially possessed the capability to improve to mediocre with the same opportunities Petras received.

Absolutely this. I think Spencer is the only quarterback on Iowa’s roster that would have won the minnesota game this year. Not that he played particularly well or anything, but lil Alex is a little guy who the cold and wind would have conquered. That said, all these games weren’t worth it. Iowa plays a pretty miserable style, having a pants shitting statue who falls down easily makes that much worse.

I would have preferred watching my grandmother play QB, and she's been dead for nearly 50 years.
