Every single one of us would have said a kid who put up 97 for 1,199 and 12 TDs this year wasn’t an “elite receiver” after what he did for us the prior year.

Keagan has every bit the potential Charlie has.

I can't remember which game, but the announcers said BF was purposely funneling the offense through the tight end. I had always thought that was a bug, not a feature. If it's true that he designed a tight end first offense the guy should have been run out of town years ago.

That meathead watched the 2017 team with 2 first round tight ends and figured it was a suitable option going forward.
Well it may have been able to work had they recruited TE at a high level.

They went big game hunting at TE after the success of Fant and TJ and pretty much struck out on all of them. That left them with LaPorta and Lachey. Both are solid but no where near the speed and athletic ability of Fant and Hockenson.

Lol, guys who totally quit on their team before the year often stick around and then PLAY IN THE FINAL FUCKING GAME.

He was hurt, and he also is fucked in the head mentally. He's transferring after being a wreck all season. Bye.
You don't know that and are just trying to pad your speculation. Another way to say this is he knew he didn't want to play for this team, this offense and said he wasn't ready to play. Played against his home state team since his medical redshirt was still safe and then announced his entry into the portal. Why can't this be a possibility? Why leave the team? Why waste a year or risk getting hurt chasing a shit ball from Peaches? Keep rehabbing and training to stay ready for the next season when you are with a new team. You can't quit and take the year off and expect to be 100% the following season. He played Iowa like a fiddle and is leaving for (in his opinion) greener pastures. This isn't out of the question. Likely the only person who knows what he was thinking are Keagan and his immediate family. Thats probably the list. This and anything else is pure speculation.

Leistikow and Smith had an ‘emergency’ podcast today. They implied Bruce and Vines are also leaving and McNamara is happening.

Also sounds like a running back is leaving and if I had to guess it’ll be LeShon.

I would argue that for Iowa and the type of guys Iowa likes to have targeting tight ends and designing offense around them isn't ridiculous. If your competition isn't doing that, then by all means try to find the advantage where you can. And Brian did have success with tight ends. The execution of said plan just needs to be cleared up, certainly, snort.

This will never happen for some reason, but wtf don't we just throw a couple million a year at Paul Chryst
Do not want, basically at all, but especially if they have good money to throw around. I understand the reasons why, both in terms of what is realistic and what Kirk apparently is like in shaping the offense, but still, no thanks.

You have 2 first round tight ends and you shouldn’t run the offense through them?

One reason is that Phil makes 1 mil. If you bring in a high caliber OC and pay him 2 mil, you'll almost have to raise Phil to that level too.

Ok let’s say that’s true.

So your scenario is:
-he hates BF
-decides to transfer very early in the season and makes it well known INTERNALLY
-Is still allowed to practice
-Gets spot # of snaps in a couple games
-Kirk alludes to an injury of some sort but stays super vague about it
-Keagan gets in a little vs Nebrantska
-Decides to transfer today

Anything else?
Oh, he decided to transfer awhile ago

Fuck you, I do know that and EVERYONE who covers Iowa can confirm he has had serious mental health issues.

Also, you don't fucking play in the last game of the year and risk hurting yourself for no reason if you have quit and decided to transfer. That is some epic retarded level bullshit.

Lol that he played Iowa like a fiddle. Yes, what a brilliant plan by him to not just simply transfer early on or before the season, but to fake injury and mental health issues and put up no tape as that is surely what will get him the most positive attention from other programs.

Everything you typed is stupid as fuck and has zero logic.

If Vines knows that Bruce is also leaving, then why would he leave? He would basically be our best returning WR. Even in this shitshow of an offense, he will get more targets here than anywhere.

Not that it's a big deal because our WRs suck but pretty much means they will be needing at least 3 WRs in the portal then.

I personally do not care if every offensive player not named Kaleb leaves this off season.

Everything you say is absolutely logical, but mental health issues are pretty bad/complicated and could have cause him to make some really stupid decisions. Just throwing that out there.
