Budmayer was the lead recruiter according to the Insider! on TOS. I think he will be named the QB coach when the season is over fwiw.

He did try to catch one. He didn't though.

He was a different player from freshman to sophomore year. He looked promising last year and nothing but shit this year. What game did his drop seal the loss? I know his fumbled punt was almost a nail in the coffin against Nebrantska
He fell in the Iowa State game.

Here is the other reason why the co-coordinator thing is total bullshit..... the NCAA still has rules and limits on coaching staff positions.

You can have 1 head coach and 10 assistants that can have direct day to day contact with players. If you are going to add someone, then someone else has to go. They can't just add Budmyr as an actual coach without removing someone.

Agree on development but they didn’t improve at all this year. They only looked better at times because Johnson is a superior back to the Williams boys
They were better with Colby at G. The right side and C still sucked, but the left side was solid with Richman and Colby.

ETA: No idea whose call it was to move Colby to G. All on board Brian, Copeland, Barnett all being gone FWIW.

Brian as Co-OC and OL coach and other dude as Co-OC and QB coach.

Hopefully Richman or Davidkov are good enough to move to RT. I'm assuming Proctor is slated for LT.

Budmyr has never coordinated an offense worth any shits, at all. I would be pretty disappointed in that hire. Find someone that has a few years of successful experience and bring them in. Iowa has money to pay, it's fucking ridiculous to not think they can get an experienced, successful coordinator and playcaller.

Wisconsin was the first school to offer Cade out of high school and Budmayer was the one that initiated that offer. He then offered and I believe coached Cades brother at Colorado State.

Jake McNamara is at UTEP, so was never coached at Colorado State

All the talk of prospective offensive additions are great, but are there any thoughts on the ability to reload on defense? I trust Phil, but am curious how you go about replacing a Jack Campbell. Roberts, Moss, and Shannon were solid players too. Do they get any portal help on that side of the ball? What does the defensive two deep look like next year?

I think the DL will be fine and they do get Jacob’s back

They had some injuries at corner, Harris should be good, Dejean, castro, Nwankpa, hall. I think think the secondary should be good. The line should be good. If Jacobs comes back with Higgins they will take a small step back but be solid.

Higgins and Jacobs should be able to hold it down at LB. They did get a JUCO DL from Iowa Central and were recruiting a JUCO CB that went to K State.

Has Roberts announced he's done? Can't he come back?

If this was the case- suprised that the Wisconsin receiver who transferred to Minnesota didn't come to Iowa

I report you decide.

chryst makes sense as a candidate that could wait until after the season to announce anyway. He’s already available, rich and unlike younger guys he doesn’t need to interview and accept a job early in the cycle

Plus he and Ferentz always seemed to be on good terms, and they have the Budmyar connection.
