Well, except..... they have won football games the last half decade. A lot of them. More than all but a very few teams.

8, 9, 10, 10 and 7 by my count if you leave out the wonky COVID year. Seems like mostly they know what they are doing and how to win. It could be even better, and seems like they are aware of that and fixing it.

Yeah Doug, Kirk has been super fortunate to be in the chicken little of FBS football divisions where all you had to do was play defense at a very high level and you can fall backwards into 7-10 wins from the opponent imploding.

Guess what? B10 West is gonna go away in a couple years - and all Iowa needed to do was have an offense that wasn't complete garbage in most of those seasons you referenced to win 2-3 more games and be nationally relevant.

If you want Iowa to compete for I am a giant douche championships, they have to play offense, much to Tyler Barnes dismay. Won a lot of games in 2015, then played a real top 10 team and got exposed. Wisconsin has pushed their shit in over the years until the last couple years. Last year you saw what happened when Iowa played no offense then played a CFP team.

If your goal is for Iowa to never compete with real top 10 teams, then sure, continue to advocate for the offense to be shit. Maybe Tyler Barnes is fine with that.

Exactly this, Iowa's problem isn't it's style of play (which he's implying in the tweet), it's that their offense is inefficient garbage and has been for 6 straight years.
